As a Senior Product Designer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design process—from discovery through delivery—working closely with fusion teams including product, engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders. For the workflow space, you’ll focus heavily on hands-on discovery and research, collaborating with business partners to shape the future of our technology solutions and overall user experience.

Innovation meets excellence at Berkadia, where we give you the space you need to create and allow your ideas to flourish. We are leading the evolution of CRE and can't do that without innovators who are driven by curiosity and are willing to challenge the status quo as they chart their career path – and Berkadia's future. Be Part of Building the Next. Be Berkadia.

We Innovate to shape the future of CRE, so in this role you will:

Responsibilities:

  • Drive user experience and interaction design for Berkie, Berkadia’s AI-powered platform, by applying best practices for designing with and for AI. Ensure transparency, usability, and trust in AI-driven features while addressing unique challenges inherent to AI-based tools and workflows.
  • Lead and facilitate deep-dive discovery efforts in the CRE Production Workflow space, using workshops, user interviews, data, and other research methodologies to uncover user needs and business problems.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders as part of fusion teams to support product strategy, planning and discovery from a user experience perspective.
  • Create high and low fidelity wireframes/prototypes to convey design solutions for fusion team alignment, user feedback and validation.
  • Provide detailed, clear, and actionable requirements through drawn and written documentation so teams have a thorough understanding of the intended experience.
  • Support engineering through implementation, conducting VQA to ensure builds meet design and usability standards.
  • Use handoff tools such as Figma Dev Mode, Zeplin, or similar for high-clarity design-to-development communication.
  • Conduct, document, and share findings from usability testing, feedback loops, and workshops to inform continuous improvement.
  • Leverage, maintain, and evolve shared design systems to streamline development and ensure consistency across Berkadia’s products.
  • Use AI-powered tools and approaches to accelerate discovery, rapid prototyping, iteration, and user validation.
  • Advocate and teach design principles and best practices to other team members, including product managers and engineers.
  • Attend development meetings and collaborate in Agile ceremonies to provide design perspective, planning, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead design activities to proactively remain ahead of development teams, mitigating risks related to usability and workflow.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience working with Agile development teams and proven collaboration with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders.
