The Opportunity
This is a role based in Bogotá, Colombia.
As a Senior Cyber Fraud Specialist within Abbott’s Product Cybersecurity team, you will play a pivotal role in protecting global digital platforms from cyber fraud. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across e-commerce, consumer loyalty, and customer support initiatives to proactively prevent, detect, and respond to cyber fraud threats. Your work will begin at the design phase of new digital initiatives, ensuring that fraud prevention and detection controls are embedded from the outset and that platforms are resilient to cyber fraud by design. In this role, you will triage fraud events, lead remediation efforts, and provide strategic recommendations to strengthen the fraud posture of existing platforms. You will continuously monitor cyber fraud intelligence, analyze and correlate data from multiple sources, and identify emerging threats. Your insights will inform reporting and decision-making across the organization. By partnering globally with teams throughout Abbott, you will help drive a unified and proactive approach to mitigating cyber fraud, ensuring a secure and trustworthy experience for customers worldwide.
What You’ll Do
The responsibilities of the Senior Cyber Fraud Specialist include:
Serve as a subject matter expert on e-commerce cyber fraud threats and countermeasures
Provide strategic guidance on policies and procedures for cyber fraud prevention
Advise technology, business, and operations teams on implementing fraud prevention strategies
Conduct cyber fraud threat modeling to identify potential vulnerabilities
Onboard e-commerce, loyalty, and customer support applications into fraud monitoring systems
Utilize tools and data analytics to monitor, detect, and respond to cyber fraud incidents
Identify opportunities to establish, tune, and enhance fraud detection capabilities
Develop and maintain playbooks for cyber fraud detection and incident response
Lead the identification, containment, and resolution of cyber fraud incidents
Perform data analytics to uncover suspected instances of cyber fraud
Conduct deep data analysis to draw fact-based conclusions on fraud events
Provide timely and concise incident updates and communications to management
Analyze root causes, trends, and systemic issues related to cyber fraud
Investigate tactics, techniques, and procedures used by cyber fraud actors
Stay current with cyber threat intelligence relevant to fraud activity
Periodically report on the cyber fraud posture of each e-commerce environment
Required Qualifications
Minimum of three years’ experience in cyber fraud or cybersecurity operations within an e-commerce environment, with a focus on threat detection, incident response, and fraud prevention strategies
Experience in tuning and optimizing cyber fraud prevention and detection platforms to enhance accuracy, streamline operations, and maximize cost-efficiency
Solid grasp of adversarial techniques used in executing cyber fraud campaigns
Working knowledge of cyber threat modeling methodologies (e.g., STRIDE, PASTA)
Experience performing fraud data analysis using visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Familiarity with digital investigations, data management, analytics, and scripting tools
Proven experience developing and maintaining cyber incident response processes and playbooks
Hands-on experience generating or utilizing cyber fraud threat intelligence
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior involvement with Financial Services or Retail & Hospitality ISACs preferred
