Our team is looking for a Product Analytics Engineer to join our engineering team and help us build products that are not only delightful but measurable, insightful, and continuously improving. In this role, you'll be embedded directly in a software engineering team responsible for building applications and backend services that provide personalized content to our PlayStation customers. You will play a critical role in improving our instrumentation, shaping measurement strategies, and working with data partners to ensure that what we build can be meaningfully analyzed and optimized.

This role will be based out of Dublin, Ireland, working closely with our many other teams and individuals who support Personalization out of the UK and North America.

Responsibilities

  • Implement comprehensive event instrumentation across backend & frontend services to capture critical user and product signals.
  • Create and maintain event schemas, logging standards, and integration specs that ensure consistent, high-quality data collection.
  • Align with engineers, product managers, and data scientists on KPIs, metric definitions, and experiment tracking plans.
  • Validate data quality and interpretability, confirming that the events your services emit are analytics-ready.
  • Build or refine lightweight data pipelines/transformations that convert raw events into usable datasets.
  • Own A/B-test instrumentation, tracking setup, and initial data validation to enable rigorous experimentation.
  • Analyze experiment results with the established playbook and present clear, actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Provide ad-hoc analytics support for business, product, and engineering questions using available data assets.
  • Surface the datasets required to evaluate ML models and content strategy performance, flagging gaps and ensuring coverage.
  • Advance attribution & forecasting frameworks and champion a data-driven culture across the Personalization domain.

Requirements

  • Quantitative degree or equivalent experience in Statistics, Computer/Data Science, Mathematics, Analytics, or related field.
  • 5+ years in analytics-driven roles (data analytics/engineering/science or software engineering) within consumer-facing product environments.
  • Advanced SQL plus coding proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or TypeScript.
  • Hands-on with large datasets & complex queries, optimizing for performance and reliability.
  • Experience with event/logging pipelines (Kafka, Kinesis, Datadog, OpenTelemetry) and product-analytics platforms (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Adobe Analytics).
  • Proven cross-functional collaborator with engineering, product, and data-science teams.
  • Contributor to shared event taxonomies and schemas, with deep understanding of retention, conversion, engagement metrics.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and continuous-learning mindset.

Bonus Requirements

  • Data-visualization expertise with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or a similar platform for building clear dashboards and storytelling visuals.
  • Domain knowledge in personalization or e-commerce metrics, understanding how ranking, targeting, and conversion KPIs are defined and optimized.
  • Hands-on experience with A/B-testing frameworks and statistical evaluation methods, including experiment design, power analysis, and result interpretation.
