Senior Procurement Operations Manager – Cross Category

About the Role

As a Senior Procurement Operations Manager – Cross Category at Roche, you will help shape and continuously improve how procurement is delivered across our global Delivery organization. You’ll focus on strengthening core procurement processes and systems—covering category management, sourcing, supplier management, contracting, content, and eSourcing—while driving efficiency, automation, and consistent execution.

You’ll operate in a highly collaborative, international environment, working closely with Procurement, IT, Roche Services & Solutions, and regional teams. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and offers the opportunity to influence how procurement operates at scale.

This position sits within the Procurement Operations Cross Categories team, reporting to the Cross-Category Operations Management Team Lead.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will help ensure strong, efficient, and future-ready procurement operations across categories and regions. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for procurement operations, processes, systems, and automation, supporting day-to-day execution and complex purchasing needs.

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process, system, and automation enhancements across end-to-end procurement.

  • Coordinate and support system and process changes, including enhancements, User Acceptance Testing, configuration, documentation, and training.

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and operational controls, including audit support and risk mitigation activities.

  • Collaborate closely with global procurement, IT, and business teams to align priorities, deliver projects, and create value at scale.

What You Bring

Experience & Education

  • University degree (business or information technology preferred)

  • 6+ years of experience in procurement operations, process management, or technology management

  • Strong understanding of procurement practices, Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and eSourcing systems

  • Experience working in matrix or global organizations

Skills & Capabilities

  • Lean Six Sigma and/or Agile methodology expertise

  • Ability to translate complex stakeholder needs into practical process or system solutions

  • Strong understanding of local site variations while maintaining a global process mindset

  • Experience leading or supporting improvement initiatives using Lean, Agile, or similar methods

  • Familiarity with enterprise procurement systems and tools

  • Business-level fluency in English
