Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Senior Process Engineering Manager- Paint Operations, located in Guadalajara.

This role involves being responsible for managing a team of process engineers and technicians working on improving process engineering capabilities to support the paint process area including operational responsibilities and disciplines inherent to the process.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians to establish and maintain statistical process control systems.
  • Take the leadership on GEMBA walks to lift the execution profile and controls as well as operational conditions of the area.
  • Manage and drive KPIs such as yield, MRB, OEE, UPH and new technologies implementation.
  • Accountable for the development of a sustainable system not only for the process but for the continuance efficiency and streamlined operation through the wash masking paint application and cure process.
  • Proactively lead new product introductions guaranteeing proper DFM is shared in a timely fashion allowing product considerations to match our process.
  • Establish and improve process capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation.
  • Manage development projects that are designed to meet customer product specifications, delivery, and cost expectations.
  • Work with other engineering team members to design new products that can be manufactured.
  • Improve throughput in constrained areas.
  • Develop, test, and implement new materials and processes for improved performance and/or lower cost and manage cost reduction efforts in assigned process areas.
  • Partner with other engineering team members to design new products that can be manufactured.
  • Coordinate initiatives to increase throughput, reduce costs and improve performance in constrained areas.
  • Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and preserve knowledge with the use of training strategies and evaluation methodology to secure a discipline execution.
  • Collaborate with training department to maintain the good operational practices on the floor shop of serving equipment clean up proper change over, areas preparation through preventative measures and technical solutions (peel off surfaces, protective packaging, adhesive prevention treatments and proper spaces for nozzle test and clean up.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong Knowledge in manufacturing/metal- mechanical industry
  • Extensive experience in powder coating and liquid paint application.
  • Proven experience in full paint line implementation (continuous or batch systems).
  • Experience with product qualification for painting, silk screen, and tampon (pad) printing.
  • Advanced English level.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of systems integrity
  • Experience in the design and fabrication of fixture gauges.
  • Strong knowledge of Core Tools, especially FMEA
  • Proven people leadership and team management experience
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Lean Manufacturing certification is a plus
