Renishaw’s Encoder Products Division (EPD) designs and supplies cutting-edge position feedback technology to the world’s precision measurement, automation, and manufacturing industries. It is highly likely that something you own contains a part or device that was manufactured with the help of one of Renishaw’s encoder products.
EPD is made up of engineers, scientists and technicians all working together to produce market leading products for sale around the world. We start with cutting edge optical, algorithm and circuit design, even developing our own ASICs and sensors where required. Our mechanical engineering teams then turn our core technology into a range of innovative products for our broad customer base.
Working closely with colleagues in our manufacturing division, we develop manufacturing and assembly processes and software to deliver quality products by the hundreds of thousands that in turn, perform reliably and repeatedly to sub-micron accuracies for our customers.
We are currently looking for an engineer with experience of production to help develop complex, high precision assembly and test processes in our new product development area.

Create proposals to prioritise and implement changes for product improvements, tooling development, fault finding trees, maintenance processes and capacity uplift.
Work with tooling designers and production staff to ensure processes are designed for use in manufacturing.
Analyse critical process metrics to quantify improvements.
Ensure processes are documented according to good manufacturing practice.
Transfer new assembly processes to production sites.
Key requirements
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in production engineering and/or process development with one or more of the following areas of expertise:
