Senior Privacy Technical Product Manager

Position Summary

The role is an advertising privacy Subject Matter Expert on the Privacy Program Team.

Role Description:

Lead engineering stakeholder privacy engagement and privacy reviews. Analyze proposed code and data architecture for privacy requirements, perform technical project management with engineering teams to meet privacy requirements for products, features and systems.

Collaborate with internal CTV Advertising business stakeholders, including product, engineering, legal, compliance and business teams, to understand unique privacy requirements. Engage in dialogue and foster partnerships to promote rigorous Advertising privacy practices.

Lead Advertising Privacy training and awareness: Conducting training workshops to train engineers, architects and product teams on Advertising data privacy, responsible Advertising Privacy practices, and potential challenges associated with Advertising Privacy technologies.

Perform Advertising Privacy reviews and assessments: Conduct regular audits and assessments of Advertising Privacy systems to evaluate their compliance with legal guidance standards and identify areas for impact improvement. Recommending and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Maintain external partnership relationships and industry engagement. Engage with external organizations, industry groups, and regulatory bodies to stay updated on emerging Advertising Privacy practices and contribute to the development of industry-wide standards and guidelines.

The Advertising Privacy technical SME plays a critical role to ensure that Advertising technologies are developed and used in a privacy preserving and responsible manner. The role helps build trust in Advertising Privacy systems, mitigate regulatory and ethical risks, and promote transparency and fairness in Advertising Privacy decision-making processes.

Role and Responsibilities

Required Skills & Experience:


● Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or related fields. 6+ years of industry experience with a master’s degree or 4+ years of industry experience with a PhD degree
● Minimum 7 years data privacy experience with 2+ years CTV advertising privacy focus
● Proven Subject Matter Expertise in data privacy principles, privacy engineering, US privacy regulations (CCPA, COPPA, etc.…), global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PIPEDA, LGPD, etc.), and best practices.
● Demonstrated experience using Jira for ticket management, workflow administration, and reporting.
● Demonstrate ability to apply Privacy requirements to Advertising systems & applications.
● Exceptional organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
● Proficiency in creating and utilizing automations and templates to enhance communication efficiency

Continuous Improvement:

● Monitor industry trends, privacy enhancing technology solutions, and emerging privacy issues to proactively enhance the privacy program
● Conduct periodic reviews and assessments to measure the effectiveness of the privacy program
● Develop and deliver privacy training programs for employees and contractors
● Promote privacy awareness and champion a culture of privacy across the organization

Compensation for this role, for candidates based in Mountain View, CA is expected to be between $200,000 ~ $220,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
