Job Description:
The Effector Optics Department at Raytheon in Tucson, AZ is currently searching for a Senior Principal Systems Chief Engineer to be the Coyote Blk IIC+ Development Execution Chief Engineer. The CE will drive timely and technically viable development of critical program upgrades with $63M of current labor contract scope for Blk IIC+, combined with $25M investment for Blk IID/NGCM. Complex problem solving often requires developing and implementing parallel paths to keep design and integration activities moving forward while resolving frequent roadblocks. Ability to balance the team and focus between proposals, executing current efforts and developing strategic efforts which include considerations for the common designs for emerging development of Coyote Blk IID/NGCM. Provide influence and decision making to achieve a balanced technical solution which satisfies the customer’s needs and provides positive financial impact to the business. Establish and reinforce the program’s technical organizational structure, risk posture, strategy, and execution plans.
The Execution Chief Engineer will work closely with all disciplines associated with missile production including Customer, Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Production Operations to ensure the technical integrity of the product is maintained and performs as intended every time. The CE’s knowledge base will be used to lead and/or support failure investigations, obsolescence redesigns, factory escapes, supplier issues and much more. The ability to calmly but quickly review and analyze information and make decisions and/or recommendations is critical in this role.
The position requires a strong engineering development background and collaboration across internal teams. This role also involves close collaboration with other leadership to address programmatic concerns, ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and technical objectives, and deliver compliant solutions to customers while fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
