What You Will Do:

• Participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of software to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems

• Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions

• Participate in internal review of software components and systems

• Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering

• Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience in one of these areas: telecommunications, data communications, wireless communications, communications protocols, networking protocols, cyber security, digital signal processing, SIGINT or COMINT

• Strong emotional intelligence skills (i.e. self-awareness, self-management, empathy, social awareness, relationship management)

• Coaching, teaching and/or mentoring skills

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance required prior to start date.

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer: 

• Excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skills

• Experience leading a technical team (e.g. in the role of task lead)

• Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle

• Strong engineering development discipline and process advocacy

• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

• Practical experience in all phases of the software/system/product development lifecycle

• Product development experience in one or more of these areas: telecommunications, data communications, wireless communications, communications protocols, networking protocols, cyber security, digital signal processing, SIGINT and/or COMINT

• Experience in creation or improvement of engineering development processes

• Excellent track record for working effectively and collaboratively in a multi-faceted team environment

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
