The Effector RF Design department at Raytheon is seeking an innovative RF Lab Specialist and Manager to lead the management and continuous improvement of RF lab capabilities. This role includes oversight of RF lab operations, resource planning, and fostering a safe and compliant lab environment. You will also provide functional leadership to a team of 18-24 lab leads and technicians, playing a key role in mentoring and guiding team members while ensuring alignment with department goals and company policies.

This position is onsite, located in Tucson, AZ.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for RF lab capabilities in collaboration with stakeholders and RF technologists.

  • Oversee RF lab operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, audit readiness, and company policies.

  • Represent RF labs in customer meetings, technical reviews, and facilities planning discussions.

  • Lead resource planning for capital and expense requirements.

  • Mentor and support lab leads and technicians, promoting innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Manage staffing, team development, performance management, and career growth activities.

  • Collaborate with department leadership, other sections, and cross-functional teams to align goals and initiatives.

  • Support department and directorate initiatives while ensuring team adherence to policies and procedures.

  • Address personnel matters, provide oversight for timecard management, and ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of technical experience, OR and advanced degree in a related field and 8 years of technical experience in two or more of the following:

    • Experience with RF lab management

    • Experience in RF hardware testing

    • Experience leading teams

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s degree in a STEM field.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience delivering presentations to leadership and customers.

  • Proven technical leadership experience in roles such as Lab Lead, Section Lead, CAM, or IPTL.

  • Expertise in chemical handling, metrology, property control, and audit readiness.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Situational awareness, emotional intelligence, and leadership behaviors with a willingness to make decisions and embrace change.

  • Experience working in lab environments focused on safety, compliance, security, and property management.

  • Familiarity with EHS, NISPOM, and Foreign Object Elimination processes.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds and cultures.

  • Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs, or systems, with the ability to enhance and leverage them.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
