The Role
As a leader in Moderna’s Enterprise AI Enablement team, you will partner and guide enterprise business units toward software products that deliver measurable value. Your primary meeting point will be through the AI Champions ecosystem, which you will participate in a selection of. By combining your full understand of current AI tools, with a deep understanding of business workflows and physical scientific development and manufacturing, you will construct detailed and pragmatic “Version 0” requirements along side your business experts. You will then leverage agentic engineering tools to rapidly build alpha versions to seek near real-time feedback from your business colleagues, that then feed back into your software development pipeline, to arrive at a working beta product. You will then present these products upward for prioritization to leverage Digital resources for production-grade SDLC deployment, continuing to nurture your product through engineering and always staying interfaced with the enterprise. You will also be responsible for working with the business to define the ROI of the product you are building with them in order to aide Digital resource prioritization.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Rapidly discover and prove high-value AI opportunities by living with business leaders: learn their work, translate practice into executable hypotheses, and deliver working agentic prototypes that demonstrate measurable value.
Operate as a relentless experimenter: sweep the external technology landscape, design fast, instrumented POCs (days → weeks), and iterate until a production-worthy pattern is found.
Ship agentic “v0→v0.1” systems that embed decision-making agents, autonomous workflows, and safety rails; show clear criteria for scale or kill.
Build the business-tech bridge by becoming the translator who turns tacit operational knowledge into prompts, agents, and code that business users trust and adopt.
Institutionalize learnings into a reproducible agentic playbook: reference architectures, testing/QC patterns, guardrails, and handoffs that teams can reuse.
Influence broadly without formal authority: be the go-to technologist for “what should we try next,” and the pragmatic partner to Digital/IT/Legal/Privacy/QMS who accelerates safe adoption rather than blocking it.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
Master’s or PhD in a technical or scientific discipline or equivalent industry experience that strengthens domain credibility is required.
5+ years of experience leading cross-functional initiatives that moved AI or automation experiments into production and delivered measurable business outcomes such as reduced cycle time, lower error rates, or clear cost savings.
Demonstrated ability to convene, persuade, and align senior stakeholders across Digital/IT, Quality/QMS, Legal/Privacy, and business units without formal authority.
Proven track record defining hypotheses, running rapid outcome-driven pilots, shipping pragmatic version-1 solutions, and owning go/no-go and scaling decisions.
Fluency with core AI/ML concepts, modern AI toolsets, and software development lifecycles, with the ability to translate technical constraints into pragmatic business decisions.
Direct understanding of business workflows and scientific development or manufacturing contexts sufficient to translate practitioner problems into implementable AI requirements.
Working knowledge of validation, traceability, data integrity, and inspection-readiness principles, with demonstrated ability to embed minimal yet effective governance into the delivery lifecycle so experiments remain fast and audit-ready.
Experience launching or scaling communities of practice, enablement programs, or champion networks that change behavior and seed decentralized capability.
Strong executive-level communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills, including the aptitude to guide non-digital native business users through rapid software development and adoption cycles.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Track record in senior product, platform, or AI adoption roles with enterprise responsibility for strategy, roadmaps, and scaled value delivery.
Deep familiarity with scientific research and manufacturing environments and prior success converting lab or process workflows into high-impact digital or AI use cases.
Practical experience designing, validating, or operationalizing generative or agentic AI solutions together with the governance patterns required to manage their risks.
Demonstrated success building repeatable operating systems—such as champion networks, playbooks, and enablement curricula—that materially increased adoption and shortened time to value.
Experience advising senior leadership or executive committees on technology strategy, tradeoffs, and investment priorities.
Proven ability to take multiple pilots to sustained production at enterprise scale and to institute organizational processes (SLOs/SLAs, incident and problem management, and measurement) that sustain them.
Demonstrated change leadership that drives cultural and behavioral shifts across decentralized organizations through storytelling, enablement, and measurable outcomes.
