What you'll be doing

  • Serve as the technical quality lead for major programs, platforms, or portfolios, providing expert guidance on quality engineering, design assurance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead quality engineering activities across product development, design transfer, and sustaining phases to ensure safe and effective products.
  • Act as the primary quality interface for cross-functional teams, including R&D, Operations, Regulatory, and Manufacturing.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate quality, compliance, and business risks, recommending mitigations and improvements.
  • Provide leadership in maintaining audit-ready status and supporting internal and external audits (FDA, ISO, etc.).
  • Lead and/or support CAPA, nonconformance, and investigation activities, including root cause analysis and effectiveness verification.
  • Periodically review the suitability and effectiveness of the quality system with senior or executive leadership.
  • Provide technical mentoring and guidance to other Quality Engineers and cross-functional team members.
  • May provide functional leadership or manage a small team of Quality Engineers (typically no more than three).
  • Influence decision-making without direct authority through expertise and credibility.
     

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering is required.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in quality, manufacturing, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with electromechanical devices required, preferably within the medical device industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal/communication/influencing/negotiation skills.
     

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $112,000 - $154,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
