Company Overview

We are a global orthopedic medical device company focused on hip, knee and shoulder implants. We operate through 27 subsidiaries plus additional distributor markets. We are building a centralized pricing capability to improve price realization, support tenders, and drive profitable growth across regions.

Position Summary

The Pricing Manager will own pricing strategy and governance across hip, knee and shoulder portfolios, improving average selling price (ASP), margin realization and competitive positioning. This role partners closely with regional commercial teams, marketing, finance and market access to set, obtain and sustain pricing discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute list price, discount and rebate strategies by product family and market tier.

  • Build price corridors and deal guidance for direct and distributor channels; implement approval workflows.

  • Analyze ASP and margin trends; identify leakage by country, account, product and sales channel.

  • Lead pricing support for tenders, framework agreements and IDN/GPO contracts with profitability guardrails.

  • Define launch pricing for new indications, systems and sets; partner with marketing on value-based pricing.

  • Develop pricing dashboards (e.g., Power BI) and tools to enable data-driven decisions and transparency.

  • Monitor competitor pricing, reimbursement changes and procurement dynamics to inform price actions.

  • Maintain pricing policies, governance and documentation to ensure compliance and auditability.

  • Model financial impact of price changes (scenario analysis, elasticity, FX, COGS, mix).

  • Run quarterly pricing reviews with regions; coach sales leaders on negotiation and price discipline.

  • Coordinate with Supply/Finance on inflation pass-through and surcharges when appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or similar; MBA a plus.

  • 5–8+ years in Pricing/Revenue Management/Commercial Excellence; medtech or pharma strongly preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with EU tenders, reimbursement, and multi-country price governance.

  • Advanced Excel; proficiency with BI tools (Power BI/Tableau); ERP/CPQ experience is advantageous.

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical rigor and comfort with large datasets.

  • Influences across matrix organizations; excellent communication in English (additional EU languages a plus).

Success Metrics (First 12–18 months)

  • +0.8–1.5% improvement in realized price (ASP) across prioritized markets and lines.

  • Reduction in off-guideline discounting and unapproved rebates by >50% in targeted segments.

  • Standardized tender pricing playbook adopted by all subsidiaries; improved win rates with protected margins.

  • Deployed pricing dashboards with weekly ASP/margin visibility at account and SKU level.

Reporting & Interfaces

Reports to: Director/Head of Commercial Excellence (or VP Marketing). Interfaces with: Regional Sales, Marketing, Finance/FP&A, Market Access/Reimbursement, Regulatory/Legal, and Supply Chain.
