Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to lead the design and development of cutting-edge DC-DC power conversion products for high-performance computing, AI power delivery, telecom, and enterprise applications. In this role, you will drive new hardware designs from concept through high-volume production, focusing on point-of-load (POL) converters, power delivery networks (PDNs), and high-efficiency buck and resonant topologies. You will work closely with global R&D, firmware, magnetics, thermal, and manufacturing engineering teams to deliver high-density, high-reliability power solutions while supporting continuous improvement of existing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the design of isolated and non-isolated DC-DC converters, including buck, resonant, and multiphase topologies.
    • Define and optimize PDN and POL architectures for transient response, noise, thermal performance, and power density.
    • Use simulation tools such as PSPICE, SIMPLIS, SIMetrix, or Ansys for modeling, design optimization, and validation.
    • Develop schematics, bills of materials, and guide high-density PCB layouts for performance and manufacturability.
    • Perform lab-based validation, debugging, characterization, and compliance testing of prototypes.
    • Collaborate with firmware, magnetics, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust design and smooth production launch.
    • Support existing product families through component alternates, quality improvements, and lifecycle management.
    • Mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, and contribute to innovation and intellectual property generation.

Basic Qualifications

    • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field (M.S. preferred).
    • Minimum 7 years of experience in power electronics hardware design.

Preferred Skills

    • Experience with GaN or SiC device-based designs.
    • Knowledge of magnetics and thermal design for high-density converters.
    • Familiarity with digital control loops, compensation, and mixed-signal power stages.
    • Understanding of EMI/EMC mitigation techniques and compliance test requirements.
    • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
    • Proven experience with POL converters, PDNs, buck converters, and resonant or soft-switching topologies.
    • Hands-on lab expertise in testing, validation, and failure analysis of power converters.
    • Proficiency with schematic capture, PCB design, and circuit simulation tools.
