Shape and support the platform that powers healthcare at scale in the UK and EMEA

At Eucalyptus, we’re on a mission to make healthcare simpler, safer, and more accessible. Behind every product experience is a platform that is already running at scale — reliable, secure, and cloud-based — enabling engineering teams globally to move fast while delivering value to patients.

This is the first platform hire in the UK, giving you the opportunity to own EMEA regional support, tooling, and infrastructure, helping local engineers solve problems, respond to escalations, and ensure the platform continues to operate smoothly for the region.

The impact you will have

  • Support and evolve the existing platform technologies for EMEA engineers, helping them deliver product and operational impact

  • Maintain and improve cloud infrastructure (GCP) for reliability, scalability, automation, and security

  • Enhance developer experience through self-service tooling, automations, and workflow improvements

  • Provide guidance and solutions for containerisation and orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Docker)

  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, including reusable module libraries

  • Partner with local engineering, product, and operations teams to understand requirements and address regional challenges

  • Contribute to operational excellence and help mentor engineers locally

Who succeeds here

You’ll likely succeed if you:

  • Have 6+ years of experience as a software or platform engineer in a startup, scale-up, or product-led environment

  • Can code effectively in at least one modern language (Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, etc.)

  • Have strong experience designing and maintaining cloud infrastructure on GCP

  • Are comfortable with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerised environments

  • Have experience with Terraform and building reusable infrastructure modules

  • Understand microservices and distributed systems

  • Have experience implementing and maintaining cloud security controls

  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, balancing trade-offs effectively

  • Work well autonomously in a global team environment

  • Understand operational workflows, logistics systems, or similarly complex business processes

You don’t need to tick every box — if this role excites you, we’d still love to hear from you.

Nice to have

  • Experience with data platforms or machine learning infrastructure (e.g. BigQuery, Vertex AI)

  • Experience building self-service infrastructure provisioning workflows

This is a pioneering role — the first platform engineer in the UK — focused on regional ownership of an already-established platform. You’ll support local engineers, influence operational practices in EMEA, and ensure that our platform continues to scale reliably and securely as the business grows. It’s a unique chance to lead locally, collaborate globally, and help shape how healthcare delivery is powered by technology.
