Senior Platform (CI/CD )Engineer

A Sr. Platform Engineer will lead all aspects of the CI/CD lifecycle (from modernization strategy to day-to-day execution), leveraging deep technical expertise to build automated, secure, and scalable delivery pipelines. This role acts as a bridge between high-level business objectives and technical execution, ensuring development teams have the autonomy to move fast while maintaining rigorous compliance and security standards.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead CI/CD Modernization: Drive the transition from legacy build systems to modern, automated environments across a large, mature organization.

  • Strategy & Architecture: Define and deliver CI/CD solutions that balance developer speed/autonomy with strict adherence to SOX, PCI, and general security best practices.

  • Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain mature pipelines that integrate core components including SAST/DAST, telemetry, automated testing, and vulnerability scanning.

  • Executive Communication: Distill complex technical transformations into clear, simple terms for executive-level presentations; solicit key requirements from both technical and business leaders.

  • Task Orchestration: Break down high-level modernization plans into consumable, actionable tasks for engineering teams to execute against.

  • Lifecycle Management: Monitor the health and performance of the CI/CD ecosystem, identifying opportunities for improvement and managing the retirement of technical debt.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide advice, training, and assistance to development teams to ensure platform capabilities are understood and utilized effectively within the business context.

  • Project Leadership: Execute development plans for new platform services, managing schedules, identifying risks, and communicating status to stakeholders.

  • Mentorship & Growth: Develop own capabilities and those of the team through coaching and staying abreast of industry trends in DevOps, Site Reliability, and Build Engineering.

Skills:

  • Required:

    • CI/CD Orchestration: Expert-level ability to manage and develop all aspects of a delivery service to ensure maximum impact and value.

    • Strategic Leadership: Proven track record of leading (not just contributing to) large-scale modernization efforts.

    • Communication & Influence: Ability to articulate strategies in a clear, compelling manner tailored to both executive and technical audiences.

    • Security & Compliance Integration: Deep understanding of integrating SOX, PCI, and security protocols into the automated dev-loop.

    • Analytical Decision Making: Analyzes market trends and internal data to select the best technical approaches for the platform.

    • Risk Management: Identifies and prioritizes threats to the release process and creates robust response plans.

    • Change Strategy: Develops effective transition states and release plans based on enterprise readiness.

  • Preferred Technical Toolset: * Hands-on experience with Jenkins/CloudBees, Cloud Build, GitLab, Bitbucket Pipelines, or Harness.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level

Experience: Expert practitioner with 8+ years of dedicated CI/CD experience and 10–15 years of overall IT experience.

Managerial Experience: Experience coordinating the work of others and leading cross-functional project initiatives (Lead-level experience).
