Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Planning Engineer to join our construction supervision team. In this role, you will develop, implement, and maintain the project planning and scheduling function on one or more large projects.
At this level, you are a fully qualified professional with solid experience, strong technical expertise, and familiarity with Parsons policies and procedures, able to complete complex project control and planning tasks independently.
Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control and planning/scheduling problems.
Analyze, evaluate, and forecast current status against the approved baseline schedule.
Assess the impacts of design changes, construction changes, and schedule slippages on key milestones and the critical path.
Report schedule status, variances, and forecasts to project management, Parsons management, and the client.
Understand and apply engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships in all planning work.
Develop and maintain critical path method $CPM$ logic networks and bar charts, including appropriate calendars, coding, and constraints.
Customize project control and planning systems (reports, dashboards, coding structures) to meet specific project and client requirements.
Accumulate historical data, such as performance and productivity information, to maintain a realistic basis for future planning and forecasting.
Supervise and provide performance input/reviews for one or more lower‑level Project Control Engineers/Specialists and/or support personnel.
Provide input to senior Project Controls staff regarding planning and project controls staffing requirements.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Typically 10+ years of related work experience in project controls/planning and scheduling on construction projects.
Basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related discipline.
Proficient PC skills, including
Project Controls / planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar).
Power BI
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint; other analytical/reporting tools a plus).
