Position Purpose

The Senior Planner plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely planning of Carpet Tiles and Resilient Flooring (Luxury Vinyl Tiles and Nora rubber flooring). This role supports Sales opportunities by maintaining optimal stock levels and managing inventory to minimise excess and obsolete stock. It involves ongoing engagement with Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate information sharing that supports overall business objectives. The Senior Planner also provides support to the wider planning team to ensure cohesive and efficient operations.

This is a 12-month full-time, fixed-term position with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Manage approximately $15 million in Finished Goods inventory, reviewing safety stock levels and purchasing from multiple suppliers to maintain optimal stock.
  • Actively engage and participate in regular Sales meeting to ensure full alignment are established and communicated between demand and supply.
  • Monitor and manage $1.6 million of slow-moving and obsolete stock, identifying root causes and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Raise and Maintain purchase orders for imported products.
  • Develop and maintain forward-looking Finished Goods forecasts based on historical demand and project opportunities.
  • Participate and contribute to the Product Management process and the Product Service Offer (PSO) to ensure efficiency and product relevance.
  • Process lead-time requests and provide accurate responses within 24 hours, ensuring proactive communication on FG constraints or issues.
  • Determine and communicate optimal Finished Goods utilisation and requirements to the Production Scheduler to prevent shortages or overcommitments.
  • Liaise with suppliers and freight forwarders to establish optimal shipping strategies and minimise costly airfreight.
  • Actively engage in IBP processes, including Demand reviews, Expired & Obsolete review, discounted stock management, and ensuring inventory levels align with budget and business approval processes.
  • Provide coverage across Yarn Planning, Shipping Management, Raw Materials Purchasing, allocations and Production Scheduling as required, while actively demonstrating safe working behaviours and adherence to Quality, Environmental, and Safety policies.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain/ Inventory Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain/planning, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead planning role. (International shipping/Import experience will be an advantage).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proactive, curious mindset and Team player.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel analysis.
  • Experience with ERP (JDE/SAP…) and planning systems.
