The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of People Partnering, St Vincent’s is seeking to appoint a passionate and motivated Senior People Partner, delivering outstanding customer service to senior leadership, managers and employees at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM), located on the home of the Wurundjeri people.

Partnering with the business, this role provides specialist People &Culture advice, support and guidance on the effective execution of people processes including workforce planning and change, talent and performance management and to influence the overall culture and performance of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Primary day to day accountabilities for this Senior appointment includes:

  • Provide professional human resource services that is consistent with St Vincent’s people and culture strategy

  • Act as expert advisor to the business in the application of P&C/HR policies and procedures in compliance with awards, agreements, accreditation standards and legislation 

  • Collaborate with the People & Culture Employee Experience team, facilitating delivery and implementation of P&C programs such as the Staff Engagement Survey and local Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives

  • Engage and broker services from the broader People & Culture team to ensure a positive employee experience 

  • Drive a people and performance-focused culture by providing accurate, relevant advice and guidance in all aspects of People & Culture including Employee/Industrial Relations and Organisational Development

  • Advise and assist with employee relations matters including supporting managers with performance and conduct matters, management of grievances and complaints, and undertaking investigations

Selection Criteria

Key to success in the role will be a collaborative inter-professional approach, committed to elevating team capabilities, ultimately supporting St Vincent’s mission to deliver the highest calibre of patient-centred healthcare outcomes.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related field

  • Clearly demonstrable personal effectiveness in delivering outcomes and founded on an innovation and improvement mindset 

  • Demonstrated People & Culture partnering experience in a complex work environment

  • An ability to engage and influence stakeholders effectively, building consensus where required

  • Driving results through effective communication to team and stakeholders alike 

  • A commitment to professional development, with a strong understanding of contemporary People & Culture practices

Whilst not essential, experience in a dynamic healthcare environment or other people centric industry sector would be highly regarded.
