Your New Role...
The Senior People & Culture Partner is a key position within Warner Bros. Discovery’s People & Culture team. The position will partner with leadership to provide solutions to employee-related matters, maintaining a balance between being a strategic business partner and employee champion. This position will continuously challenge the status quo and develop initiatives that ensure Warner Bros. Discovery remains an employer of choice. This position will be located in Budapest with some anticipated travel, and will support P&C activity in Hungary, Czech and Romania covering circa 300 employees, from multiple functions i.e. Streaming, DTC, Technology, Finance, P&C Operations and Commercial.
The Senior People & Culture Partner will be a positive self-starter who can think strategically about big picture business goals as well as tactically execute a full range of People & Culture initiatives. In this dynamic culture, the role will serve as the primary partner to the business and the liaison with the broader HR community of Warner Bros. Discovery. Candidates for this position should be innovative, solution-oriented, analytical, collaborative, and be able to engage with colleagues across level, location, and discipline. The role must effectively work in a fast-paced creative environment, bringing an energy and enthusiasm to the function, founded in sound strategy.
Your Role Accountabilities...
Understand the business priorities to execute against the people strategy.
Drive the People & Culture agenda to create great a place to work and grow for our employees.
Provide day to day HR support for employee population in Hungary, Czech, Romania.
Actively contribute to the business strategy; provide People & Culture expertise and challenge to the management team.
Proactively provide creative and engaging solutions to motivate employees at different career points (i.e., early career, management, leadership).
Serve as the People & Culture advisor, coach and partner to the management team.
Partner with leaders on organisational changes, ensuring we are legally compliant and act as a true partner; questioning, constructively challenging and advising.
Know your Top Talent across your client groups. Facilitate calibration sessions, conversations, development opportunities and retention strategies for our Talent on an ongoing basis.
Lead or partner (as applicable) on P&C related projects and support the roll out of annual global P&C initiatives.
Maintain a positive work environment through effective employee relations practices.
Coach managers to pro-actively manage employees (e.g., performance and attendance) and provide advice to resolve grievance and disciplinary issues.
Support managers and employees in matters related to career development, staffing initiatives, employee relations, workplace ethics and performance management.
Influence and shape the change agenda, including organization and structural changes; identify obstacles and develop strategies to overcome them.
Develop strong working relationships and work closely with all People & Culture specialist functions to provide ‘seamless’ support and guidance to the business including Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, P&C Shared Services, Total Rewards.
Proactively review, on an ongoing basis, all People & Culture policies and processes; with a view to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Continually strive to provide ‘best practice’ HR advice and support, through information sharing internally and external benchmarking.
Qualifications & Experience...
Demonstrate prior experience of business partnering up to senior executive level in a fast-paced, high change, matrix environment.
Commercial awareness – curious about the business areas you support (and the wider business) to maximise your influence.
Collaborative – able to partner with centres of excellence to develop and implement initiatives that develop capability and culture.
Able to make sound and prompt decisions as well as connect the dots between different functions to challenge assumptions and improve efficiency and effectiveness for the business.
Able to lead projects and change programmes within your client groups and wider as required.
Must be able to exercise a level of independent judgement and make sound decisions that enhance business performance, often with little direction while ensuring you comply with laws and regulations.
Demonstrate the capability to self-prioritize and manage a complex and changing workload with the ability to meet changing and varying deadlines.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Agile and able to flex between input to strategic topics and delivering operationally as needed.
Experience of leading and coaching a small team is desirable.
Project management and process improvement experience.
Previous experience of working within a US parent company and complex matrix organisation across EMEA countries.
Additional European languages are a significant advantage.
Experience working with Workday databases highly preferable.
