We are seeking a talented individual to join our Partnerships and Direct team at Mercer. This is a Melbourne or Sydney based role. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Senior Partnership Manager
In this role of Senior Partnership Manager, you will be a key driver of growth for Mercer Super and our members. You are the partner’s central point of contact and advocate within Mercer Super and bring the full capability of Mercer, a business of Marsh to the partnership. You use your stakeholder engagement skills and growth mindset to understand what is important to the partner, our members and our business to deliver sustainable growth that is consistent with a members first mindset.
The Senior Partnership Manager is responsible for the coordination of relationship and operational governance between Mercer and key partners, developing and executing strategies, enhancing performance, reviewing procedures/processes and ensure that agreed service level is met to drive maximum value from the relationship(s). You are responsible for the ongoing optimisation of the partnership channels through joint decision making. You will also be responsible for our Direct member channel, which includes strategy, performance and operations.
We will count on you to:
You will be primarily focused on the day-to-day operational excellence of existing and new growth partnerships to deliver improved member, business and partnership outcomes. You will also be accountable for the Direct member channel, supporting the growth and sustainability of Mercer Super. You will coordinate Mercer’s input into the development of the annual strategic plan coordinating the support of internal functions (for example product, marketing, finance, risk & compliance) and work with the partner to develop a joint strategic plan with shared goals. As a senior member of the team you will support the Head of Partnerships in overseeing the partnership portfolio when required.
Strategy development and advice:
- Develop joint annual and long-term strategic plans and roadmaps for each Partnership and Direct including forecasting.
- Identify, design and deliver new strategic initiatives to support the Partner and Direct with growth and retention in line with strategic plan
- Supporting Mercer and the Partner with legislative change and industry advocacy.
Partner management:
- Lead the governance of the partnership including the operations of the governance meetings (monthly Partnership Meetings, quarterly Joint Management Committees and annual Strategic Planning).
- Understand and monitor all of MMC’s business relationships across the Partner (in the region).
- Negotiate, deliver and /or monitor commercial terms that achieve joint goals as required
- Work with the Partner to implement new propositions, encourage member engagement and growth
- Promote the uptake of digital solutions to improve member experience and deliver operational efficiencies.
- Be the designated Vendor Relationship Owner (VRO) to manage vendor risks as outlined in the policies and procedures.
Business delivery and growth:
- Identify, assess and deliver strategic initiatives to grow the Partnership in line with agreed business plans.
- Drive member growth through our Direct channel, including optimized interactions and communications to improve retention through to retirement.
- Work with product and marketing to deliver insightful reporting and act as an escalation point
- Ensure Mercer delivers to agreed business plans and agreements
- Lead discussions on product design and operating model changes
- Identify best practice strategies and procedures and assist the team to leverage and integrate this knowledge for the benefit of all members.
What you need to have:
- Proven ability to develop, implement and manage partnerships that deliver sustainable growth for the businesses and members.
- Experience in vendor governance and management using contemporary vendor management tools
- A demonstrated strong understanding of superannuation
- Demonstrated and applied knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks
- Growth mindset to deliver a strategic growth plan with defined KPIs
