Role Overview
Rashpetco/Burullus is seeking an experienced Senior PACO Engineer with 10+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry. This role is integral to ensuring technical excellence in Process Automation, Control, and Optimisation across our offshore and onshore facilities. The PACO will report to Rashpetco Technical Managers and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver engineering solutions aligned with our integrity and growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Lead PACO engineering activities and deliverables for brownfield projects and plant modifications.
Provide PACO support for all Management of Change (MOC) processes related to existing facilities.
Guide and oversee instrument engineers within the engineering organisation (Shell secondee and contractors).
Participate in multi-disciplinary reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, SIL) and ensure closure of PACO-related actions.
Collaborate with third-party engineering contractors on FEED and Detailed Engineering Design deliverables.
Review PACO design packages, including alarm management, PCD-IT security, and F&G mapping, ensuring compliance and action closure.
Ensure adherence to Shell engineering practice & practices and international codes and standards.
Provide troubleshooting and technical support for measurement and instrumentation equipment.
Maintain an obsolescence register and develop upgrade plans based on criticality and cost.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
Minimum 10+ years of experience in PACO engineering within the upstream oil and gas sector.
Proven expertise in engineering and execution for brownfield projects.
Strong knowledge of international standards (IEC, ISA) and Shell engineering practices.
Hands-on experience with instrumentation systems, alarm management, and cybersecurity for process control systems.
Familiarity with major control systems (e.g., Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson).
Preferred Technical Authority (TA3).
