Role Overview
The Sr. OSC Specialist (Singapore) is a role served by veteran financial technologists with responsibilities that include providing customer support and production-level operational oversight of Cboe's Data Vantage market data and analytics platforms — with an initial focus on the Hanweck platform and a clear growth path toward coverage of the full suite of Data Vantage products (e.g., LiveVol, Silexx, Indices, DataShop). This role may also be called upon to provide supplementary support to the Cboe Titanium trading platform as needed.
This position is part of Cboe's follow-the-sun support model for its US Global Trading Hours (GTH) markets, providing critical overnight and early-session coverage from Singapore that ensures continuous, high-availability operations across Cboe's data and trading infrastructure. The Singapore-based Sr. OSC Specialist is responsible for providing first-level world-class support in conjunction with solving complex problems, monitoring systems, and ensuring platforms maintain a healthy state — troubleshooting when they do not. A Sr. OSC Specialist may also provide support for certain compliance and/or regulatory support functions. Individuals in this role will often act as a liaison between different stakeholders including global and regional banks, buy-side firms, corporates, prime brokers, and vendors, along with internal business and technology teams. Sr. OSC Specialists must be able to work independently with little to no direct supervision in performing their duties, and will serve as a senior escalation point on the desk during the APAC coverage window — contributing directly to the success of the Singapore operational support unit and the greater organization.
Based on follow-the-sun coverage needs, work schedules may need to adjust throughout the year during daylight savings time to provide for overlapping support schedules with other regions, and shift starting times may be as early as 5–6AM SGT.
Major Job Duties
Subject Matter Expertise & Escalation Support: Provide subject matter expertise in one or more areas critical to production operations support — with a focus on Data Vantage platforms including Hanweck — by mentoring, providing guidance to, and training Cboe staff. Liaise with vendors and operators of facilities supporting critical data and financial infrastructure. Provide thought leadership and act as a senior escalation point for the team during the Singapore/APAC coverage window.
Platform Change & Configuration: Liaise with business associates, customers, and software engineers to define and design new features and functions across Data Vantage platforms. Support implementation of configuration updates (e.g., SQL) required to effect platform change and enable new system functionality. Test changes to systems and platform functionality prior to deployment and work with the software engineering team to resolve systemic issues. Lead and participate in internal and industry-wide weekend testing as needed.
Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Serve as a senior technical responder for production incidents occurring during US GTH market hours covered from the Singapore time zone. Perform analytical functions to troubleshoot and explain complex technical and/or trading issues, conduct root cause analysis and impact analysis, and resolve customer issues related to Cboe's APIs (market data, order entry, web service). Participate in operational on-call support rotations as needed and contribute to post-incident reviews and remediation tracking to improve long-term platform stability.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize SQL to conduct data mining against databases, a UNIX shell to examine log files, and Cboe proprietary tools to gather and analyze data, provide reports, and service the needs of customers and business teams. Leverage experience with file transfer processing and cloud technology (e.g., AWS) as applicable.
System Monitoring & Platform Health: Perform daily system startup and health checks and periodically review audit logs to verify system changes. Monitor active production, disaster recovery, and certification/test environment systems — ensuring Data Vantage and Titanium platforms are operating as expected and taking direct action to resolve known issues. Monitor database health tools and batch processing pipelines. Provide customers, regulators, and the business with live updates related to system and data issues during the GTH coverage window.
Customer Support & Training: Provide customers and sales support and training related to platform behavior, order processing behavior, market structure, and feature/functions of Data Vantage platforms. Provide timely and professional outbound communications (internal and external) servicing OSC support queues and providing customer phone support to the "Deliver Plus One" standard.
Procedures & Documentation: Update internal technical and operations procedures within the Operations team's Confluence space. Draft technical notices and updates to technical specifications as required.
Client Onboarding & Access Management: Onboard new clients, establish client access to platforms, provision new services, and assist customers with establishing default settings (e.g., entitlements, routing, risk management) based on their usage of a given Data Vantage platform. Conduct API certification testing and logical port creation and modification of default settings.
Compliance & Regulatory Support: Provide operational support for a well-defined set of legal, regulatory, and/or compliance functions as required.
The ideal candidate has:
Bachelor's Degree: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Business, FinTech, Financial Services, Communications, or a related discipline.
7+ years - Securities-related or technical support position including experience with options, equities, futures, index, and/or currency market data, market analytics (e.g., Time and Sales, Earnings, Volatilities), and proficiency analyzing financial market data
5+ years - UNIX / Linux Shell including experience with file transfer processing
Cloud Technology (e.g., AWS, GCP, …)
4+ years - SQL
3+ years - Agile Development Methodology
3+ years - Scripting and/or programming experience (e.g., Python, Java, C++, C#)
Communication & Language Skills:
Fluency in English — both written and spoken — is required. This role serves as a senior communication link between Cboe's Singapore presence and its US-based Data Vantage and Operations teams during GTH market hours. The ability to communicate clearly and precisely in English — including during time-sensitive data incident and escalation scenarios — is essential to effective follow-the-sun operations.
Mandarin Chinese fluency is highly desirable.
Korean fluency is desirable.
Japanese fluency is desirable.
Global Trading Hours (GTH) Awareness:
Familiarity with or strong interest in US equities, options, and/or futures markets — and the market data and analytics products that serve them — is a plus. This role directly supports Cboe's US GTH market operations and Data Vantage platforms, which serve professional market participants across global time zones. The Singapore time zone is a strategically important operating window for ensuring continuous data availability and senior-level customer support coverage.
