Job Summary: You will serve as a Senior Operations Specialist at the TSC, Arctic Security Studies.

Major Duties:

  • As a Senior Operations Specialist at the GS-0301-12/13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Manages and coordinates a variety of support services essential to the direction and operation of events, engagements and programs. Meets with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Center planning is aligned with long-range strategic planning and scheduling. Responsible for development and management of long-range calendar for The Center. Coordinates resources and support required to execute events and engagements. Establishes and maintains relationships with the organizations on the local installation, in the vicinity, and various divisions and staff with the TSC. Oversee Protocol program for the Center and the staff supporting protocol activities as their additionally assigned duty.

Qualifications: You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Leading the development, integration, and execution of long-range operational plans, policies, and programs that directly support organizational strategic objectives; Leading cross-agency teams, ensuring synchronization of activities across diverse stakeholders and functional areas; coordinating with senior officials across federal, state, DoD, interagency, or external partners to align operational priorities and resolve high-impact challenges; Oversees protocol program for the Center. You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Planning, coordinating, and executing complex operational programs that support organizational mission objectives; analyzing operational processes to identify gaps, assess risks, improve efficiencies, and recommend policy or procedural changes to senior leadership; managing cross-functional operations, ensuring alignment with federal regulations, organizational policies, and mission priorities; coordinating with internal and external partners. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
