At Veo, we are on a mission to end car dependency by making clean transportation accessible to all and advancing the next generation of fully electric micro-mobility systems. Our fleets are constantly evolving and feature a range of vehicles - from pedal and electric bicycles, to standing and seated e-scooters, e-cargo bikes, and ADA accessible devices. Job Summary

As a Senior Operations Manager, you are the single-market owner responsible for the performance, execution, and growth of one of Veo’s largest and most complex markets. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role that blends strategic ownership with deep operational execution.

You will own the P&L, operational outcomes, and team performance for your market—ensuring high fleet availability, operational efficiency, safety, and profitability. You are expected to be present, proactive, and embedded in the operation, leading from the warehouse floor while partnering closely with cross-functional teams to drive results.

This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in fast-moving, asset-heavy environments, loves solving real-world operational problems, and wants full accountability for outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the P&L and overall performance of a single large market, taking full accountability for operational, financial, and growth targets
  • Lead end-to-end market operations, including warehouse execution, fleet operations, safety, and field performance, ensuring consistent and reliable service for riders
  • Act as Veo’s primary on-the-ground representative in the market, partnering closely with city stakeholders and Government Relations to support policy strategy, operational coordination, and public-facing initiatives
  • Apply a deep understanding of operational and financial levers to manage revenue and cost drivers, regularly analyzing trends and implementing improvements to optimize margins
  • Drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities to improve fleet uptime, labor efficiency, distribution strategy, and loss reduction
  • Serve as the senior operational leader on the ground, setting clear expectations and holding teams accountable through data, KPIs, and performance management
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing managers and frontline leaders, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Be hands-on in diagnosing and resolving complex operational challenges, balancing speed and rigor in a fast-paced, asset-heavy environment
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Central Operations, Supply Chain, Product, Customer Support, and Finance to ensure alignment and timely execution
  • Synthesize insights and feedback from the market to inform broader operational strategies, product improvements, and process innovation across Veo
  • Champion safety for employees, riders, and vehicles by enforcing standards, proactively addressing risk, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and internal policies
  • Act as a visible leader within the market, building trust with internal teams and representing Veo through consistent, high-quality execution
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence five days per week, leading by example and staying closely connected to day-to-day operations

Requirements:

  • BS/BA or equivalent required; degree in a quantitative field preferred.
  • 5+ years of operations management, business consulting, or related experience managing operations, building and developing diverse teams, optimizing processes, and delivering business goals.
  • Excellent communicator capable of motivating a team, working across an organization, and serving as a liaison with external partners as needed.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong understanding of real-time marketplaces (supply and demand economics).
  • Experience solving complex problems, exercising good judgment in decision-making, and navigating ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to simplify difficult problems into actionable and solvable tasks.
  • Data-driven by nature, strong attention to detail, and obsessed with process improvement.
  • Comfortable learning and adapting to new concepts and utilizing new tools.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and driven individual with the ability to learn new skills and grow within the role.
  • Startup experience is a plus.

he base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 - $120,000 + Quarterly Performance Bonus + Full Range of Benefits. Veo is a total compensation company, and pay is determined by geographic cost of labor and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training - so not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Our total compensation package for this role, including salary, bonus potential, ranges from $90,000 - $150,000 per year. While this is our expected range, bonuses for this role are designed to have unlimited upside potential, so additional earning opportunities may be available.
