Role Overview

The Senior Opcenter MES System Administrator is responsible for the architecture, administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of the Siemens Opcenter MES platform. This role sits at the intersection of IT and manufacturing operations, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and alignment with business objectives such as operational efficiency, quality, and traceability.

You will act as the technical authority for MES, driving system performance, enabling digital manufacturing initiatives, and ensuring seamless integration with enterprise platforms (ERP, PLM, IIoT).

Key Responsibilities

System Administration & Operations

  • Administer, configure, and maintain Siemens Opcenter MES environments (DEV, TEST, PROD)
  • Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and system monitoring
  • Manage system upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management
  • Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies

Architecture & Integration

  • Design and maintain integrations between Opcenter MES and enterprise systems (e.g., SAP/Oracle ERP, PLM, SCADA, IIoT platforms)
  • Oversee data flows, APIs, middleware, and message queues
  • Ensure data integrity, traceability, and real-time visibility across manufacturing processes

Digital Transformation & Optimization

  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to enhance MES capabilities
  • Identify opportunities to automate workflows, reduce cycle times, and improve yield
  • Support smart factory initiatives, including Industry 4.0 and AI-driven analytics

Support & Incident Management

  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for MES-related issues
  • Establish SLAs and KPIs for system uptime and performance
  • Coordinate with vendors (Siemens) and internal teams for issue resolution

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in MES administration, with hands-on expertise in Siemens Opcenter
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (discrete or semiconductor preferred)
  • Experience with system integration (ERP, Teamcenter / Oracle Agile PLM)
  • Proficiency in SQL, database management (Oracle/SQL Server), and scripting
  • Experience with Windows/Linux server environments

Pay Range:

P80-USA-1 :$145,550.00 - $207,900.00
