Senior Offset Printer

POSITION PURPOSE

This position is responsible for producing quality printing and related services as requested.

NATURE AND SCOPE
  • This role does not manage people
  • This role reports to this job: MANAGER, PRINT SHOP
  • Necessary Contacts: In order to effectively fulfill this position the incumbent must be in contact with:

    Internal customers, external customers, Corporate Communications, Marketing, Document Mgt, Materials Mgt. outside vendors, service personnel, and all employees as needed.
     
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
Work Experience
  • 5 years of high volume printing experience required
  • Experience working with a 29" or larger four or more cylinder offset sheet-fed press to produce high-end four color offset printing required
Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of all departmental equipment, software, routine maintenance on equipment inks, paper and chemicals. Must be able to trouble shoot routine equipment problems.
     
  • Must be able to establish and maintain priorities and deadlines. Able to ensure the quality and cost effectiveness of projects.
     
  • Able to research and clarify specifications for projects as needed.
     
Licenses and Certifications
  • Completion of printing related vocational or technical training preferred
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Record accurate actual time spent on all print jobs in Pace Print mgt system in data collection to ensure jobs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Translate information from job ticket to align, draw out, set up and run Heidelberg Speed Master 74 -4-P-H and Ryobi 2 color to ensure quality offset printing.
  • Order maintain any necessary supplies to get the print job done. This will ensure the supplies needed for the print job are delivered in accordance with print job due date.
  • Perform regular maintenance on all press equipment keeping with the guidelines provided by the Manufacturer to ensure Printing Services equipment stays in excellent running condition.
