What you'll be doing

As a key member of the Personal Banking and Imperial Service National Office group at CIBC, within the Network Strategy and Planning team and reporting to the Director, Business Unit Strategy, the Senior Network Manager provides specialized expertise in branch and ATM site selection, operational design, and network reconfiguration across Canada. The Senior Network Manager is responsible for conducting market analysis and retail distribution planning to optimize the bank’s physical delivery network. Leveraging in-depth financial business case analysis, the role researches, recommends, and manages the implementation of solutions that maximize revenue growth and minimize operating costs. This position manages branch and ATM transformation initiatives, ensuring they align with competitive consumer trends and industry standards while collaborating with internal and external partners to achieve growth objectives and drive organizational success. Operating in a project-driven environment, the Senior Network Manager is based in Toronto with occasional regional travel, and is accountable for ensuring that CIBC’s branch and ATM network is strategically distributed, sized, and functional to support both local market needs and the bank’s overall delivery strategy.

How you'll succeed

  • Analytical support – Provide analysis, advice and recommendations related to branch / ATM distribution planning and site selection in support of current and emerging CIBC business strategies. Apply a comprehensive, conceptual and practical understanding in the area of Branch and ATM site selection planning to a wide range of strategic and tactical situations.  As a knowledge leader, you’ll provide guidance and professional advice on complex and conceptual distribution related issues. Develop financial models and associated budget options for branch construction and real estate procurement. Interpret, advise on, and ensure compliance with external government policies, regulations and legislation. Identify opportunities for increasing the efficiency of Network Strategy & Planning’s approaches and processes.

  • Consulting - Provide highly specialized advice and guidance, to senior management and client groups, within the area of branch distribution planning and transformation initiatives. Prepare comprehensive business cases, presentation material and other project implementation related recommendations.

  • Project Management -  Lead projects to enhance, develop and customize Branch and ATM reconfiguration strategies, operating models and tactics. Ensure that relevant legislative and regulatory requirements are met. Develop a thorough understanding of Canadian Retailing market client groups in support of optimal client specific solutions.

Who you are

  • You have a degree/diploma in Economic Geography / Urban Planning. A Master’s Degree is an asset.

  • You can demonstrate 3 to 5 years of work experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with highly developed knowledge of principles and applications of economic geography, retail store planning, site selection models and theories.

  • You can demonstrate 3 to 5 years of work experience and sound understanding of Financial Assessments, site planning/selection. It’s an asset if you have knowledge and experience of Canadian retail markets.
