About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Network Engineer.
In this role, you will:
- Advanced Voice Operations: Act as Tier‑3 escalation point for complex voice issues involving Ribbon SBCs, CUCM clusters, PSTN interworking, SIP routing, and interoperability.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and implement long‑term corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and operational teams.
- Engineering Design & Architecture: Design and maintain enterprise voice architectures with a primary focus on Ribbon SBC, PSX, RAMP, and analytics platforms, and secondary focus on Cisco voice solutions.
- Review existing designs and recommend performance, resiliency, scalability, and security improvements.
- Validate production readiness of new releases, configurations, and global templates.
- Major Change, Upgrade & Release Execution: Plan and execute cluster‑level and platform upgrades, including Ribbon SBC / PSX / RAMP, Cisco CUCM, CUC, CER, Expressway
- Coordinate large‑scale firmware upgrades, device migrations, and feature rollouts.
- Develop detailed cutover plans, rollback strategies, and post‑change validation procedures.
- Ensure adherence to Wells Fargo change, release, and risk management practices.
- Engineering Standards & Drift Management: Analyze configuration drift across Ribbon and Cisco platforms and align systems to approved global standards.
- Partner with architecture and governance teams to define and enforce configuration baselines.
- Implement proactive controls to detect and remediate drift.
- Project Delivery & Transformation Initiatives: Lead medium‑ to large‑scale voice engineering initiatives, including New site deployments, PSTN migrations (ISDN to SIP), Ribbon SBC onboarding and expansion, Cisco Webex softphone and collaboration expansions, Data center consolidation and migration projects.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure on‑time and compliant delivery.
- Compliance & Risk Activities: Lead E911 validation and readiness activities in partnership with compliance and operations teams.
- Oversee certificate lifecycle management for voice platforms and introduce automation where applicable.
- Support audit, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance efforts related to voice infrastructure.
- Automation & Operational Excellence: Develop and enhance automation scripts for Provisioning, Drift detection, Monitoring and reporting, Compliance tracking.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve operational reliability.
Required Qualifications:
- Deep expertise in Ribbon product suite, including SBC, PSX, RAMP, SIP routing, and PSTN interconnects
- Strong understanding of SIP, SRTP, TLS, and carrier interworking
- Secondary Skills (Strongly Preferred): Cisco Voice technologies including CUCM, CUC, CER, Expressway
- Experience with enterprise VoIP and collaboration platforms
Desired Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in voice engineering, telecom engineering, or network engineering
- Hands‑on experience managing large‑scale, enterprise voice environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Experience with enterprise voice transformations or cloud‑adjacent voice solutions
- Knowledge of telephony compliance concepts (E911, caller identity, certificate controls)
- Experience operating within a financial services or regulated enterprise
- Prior Wells Fargo experience and familiarity with Wells Fargo engineering standards and change processes
