What’s the role about?

Reporting to the Claims Manager, Motor, we are seeking an experienced Senior Motor Insurance Claims Officer to join us on a permanent basis. This role will see you:

  • Manage a portfolio of insurance claims and recoveries, providing exceptionally high standards of service to all customers
  • Resolve complaints efficiently in accordance with the Internal Dispute Resolution & Denial procedure
  • Support the Claims Manager, Motor, with staff training, coaching and development and day-to-day team management
  • Be the point of escalation for all claims, including approving or declining claims
  • Undertake recovery initiatives in accordance with the Third Party Debt Recovery procedures to recover from at fault third parties and prepare and attend Disputes Tribunal hearings in matters including disputes over liability and in the support of policy holders in their recovery of uninsured losses

About you

  • Minimum 5 years claims experience (motor claims experience a plus) including effective management of complex claims settlements, denials, disputes and complaints (recovery experience an advantage)
  • Effective written and verbal communication, negotiation, comprehension and investigative skills
  • Basic to Intermediate skill level for Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service
  • Inherently empathic and advocates for the consumer
  • Detailed analyst with the ability to make discretionary decisions with only partial information
  • Resilient when faced with conflict and recognises and seeks support when needed
  • Self-disciplined and motivated towards achieving goals
