RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Able to perform all essential functions of the processor position and fill in for absent processors.

  • Address all component defects in a timely manner.

  • Assist/support engineers with validations, DOE’s, R&D and projects.

  • Order materials/concentrated/supplies for the molding area and work with the warehouse.

  • Assist mechanics with repairs when needed.

  • Troubleshoot and correct problems with molds, presses, processes and components.

  • Ensure parameter sheets are updated.

  • Ensure mold protection is checked daily.

  • Responsible for decisions on which presses go down or run- dependent on production needs.

  • Train processors and oversee machine attendant training.

  • Monitor, maintain and communicate material levels in silos and rail cars.

  • Assist Team Leader and Molding Engineer with monitoring efficiencies daily (cycle time, cavity utilization and waste levels)

  • Coordinate press downtime for repairs with Mechanics and Team Leaders.

  • Assist in coordination and monitoring of press cleaning responsibilities.

  • With Team Lead and Molding Engineer, monitor and ensure part containment issues are addressed daily.

  •  Coordinate/monitor proper start up and shutdown of the molding processes and the area.

  • Performs other duties assigned by Shift leader and required to support the needs of the business.

  • Must maintain regular, punctual attendance.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma of GED required

  • Vocational/Technical School or associate degree in mechanical field preferred.

  • Minimum 1 year processor or equivalent experience required.

  • Two (2) years’ processor experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.

  • Thorough knowledge of molding machines, resins and processes.

  • Good knowledge of electrical, pneumatics and hydraulic circuits as the pertain to mold and presses.

  • Good understanding of mold design and operation.

  • Thorough knowledge of all molded parts, quality specifications and inspections procedures.

  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.

  • Good verbal communication, organizational and follow-up skills.

  • Effective problem solving, able to make judgement calls.

  • Ability to read molded component drawings.

  • Ability to use and read gages.

  • Basic computer keyboard and navigational skills including Microsoft Office
