Job Summary
Performs waived, moderate, and high complexity testing according to CLIA ‘88 guidelines; interprets and reports results for established tests and examinations in at least one of the following fields within the clinical laboratory: Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Blood Bank and Microbiology. Comprehends the theories and concepts for each procedure, utilizes independent thinking and communication skills to confer these concepts to physicians and other members of the hospital staff. Performs quality control, quality assurance, maintenance and troubleshooting. Provides oversight of clinical processes for all department staff, including CAP surveys, competency assessment, and training. Duties may also include clerical tasks and related laboratory services.
Minimum Requirements
A master’s or bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
Minimum of two years of experience required
MLS (ASCP or AMT)
