A Day in the Life
The Senior Microsoft 365 Administrator will play a pivotal role in elevating productivity, collaboration, and operational efficiency by working closely with cross-functional teams to create user-friendly solutions that are scalable and align with business/organization evolving needs. The position is at the forefront of designing, customizing, and implementing dynamic solutions across SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Power Apps, Power Automate, Yammer, and other integral Microsoft 365 components.
The compensation range for this role is $130,000 - $160,000 USD commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. Ideally, this position is located in Orange County with a hybrid schedule in our Irvine, CA office.
To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:
Collaborate with various IT teams to author and maintain technical documentation for the Microsoft 365 environment, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides.
Manage user identities and credentials, including setting up and administering user accounts, groups, and permissions within the Office 365 environment.
Configure and maintain mailboxes, including email forwarding, shared mailboxes, and email security settings to ensure secure and efficient email communication.
Administer SharePoint Online, including site creation, configuration, and management, to facilitate collaboration and document management across the organization.
Oversee the deployment and management of Microsoft Teams, including team creation, policy configuration, and integration with other Office 365 services to enhance internal communication and collaboration.
Monitor and troubleshoot Office 365 services and connectivity issues, using tools like the Microsoft 365 admin center and PowerShell scripts to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.
Manage the Office 365 deployment, including software updates, version control, and user installation options to ensure that users have access to the latest productivity tools.
Implement and manage Office 365 compliance features, including data loss prevention (DLP), eDiscovery, and retention policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for the integration of third-party services and applications with the Office 365 environment, ensuring seamless interoperability and enhancing the platform’s capabilities.
Design, and plan M365 migrations (tenant-to-tenant) including test and remediation plans and work closely with teams and vendors to facilitate successful migrations and wide-scale overhaul while minimizing end-user disruption.
Design and implement SharePoint migrations (on-prem to cloud and cloud to cloud).
Design and implement automated workflows using tools like Power Automate, ensuring seamless and efficient processes.
Act as a subject matter expert and collaborate with IT support teams to resolve complex problems. Provide training, assistance, expertise, guidance and mentoring to team members troubleshooting issues related to Microsoft 365 tools and solutions.
Stay up to date with the latest Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, features, and industry best practices. Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance collaboration capabilities.

5-8 years of experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Administration
Strong release and change management skills with working experiences that can describe the benefits, impact and risks associated with proposed changes
Requires previous experience and deep expertise in Microsoft 365 products —Teams, Microsoft Groups, OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange, Intune, and Power Platform—including their functionality, infrastructure, and interdependencies.
Familiarity with NIST CSF, CIS benchmarks and other industry recognize frameworks.
Working knowledge of on-prem Active Directory (AD) and Azure AD and familiarity with scripting languages
Proficiency in web technologies such as SharePoint Framework (SPFx), JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration
Proficiency in Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agent.
M365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert and/or relevant M365 certifications (e.g., MS-100, MS-102, MS-101, MS-700, MS-600)
M365 migration experience (discovery, design, implementation/execution, support, and maintenance).
Familiarity with governance, security, and compliance considerations in the context of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.
Ability to meet critical deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Expert analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to provide root cause analysis and demonstrate results through testing and metrics.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related field preferred but not required.
