Job Title: Senior MES Software Engineer

Location: Paris, France

The job

We are looking for a skilled and experienced MES Software Engineer (Technical Lead Engineer or Solution Architect) to join our MES Delivery team in Europe. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft Transact-SQL, JavaScript, and RESTful Web APIs, along with hands-on experience in implementing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ideally with AVEVA Software (System Platform, MES, Work Tasks). In this role you will be fully customer facing and a member of the AVEVA MES Delivery project team responsible for the solution fit to customer requirements to deliver business value. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement scalable MES solutions supporting manufacturing processes. 

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in requirements gathering, system design, and code reviews 
  • Ensure best practices in coding, security, and system performance 
  • Design, develop, and maintain MES solutions built with AVEVA products
  • Integrate with external systems (e.g., SAP, PLCs, SCADA) as part of MES architecture 
  • Author system acceptance test criteria based on formal requirements and ensure customer requirements are met 100% in a timely fashion.
  • Conduct unit testing and system testing as per the test plan.
  • Site commissioning of the MES Solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in manufacturing environments 
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation 
  • Travel up to 25% to customer sites for requirements gathering workshops, design workshops, training workshops, implementation etc.

Essential requirements

  • Experience or exposure to MES systems (e.g., AVEVA/Wonderware, Rockwell FT, Siemens Opcenter, Apriso, etc.)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, and shop floor integration 
  • Fluent in English

Desired skills

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Industrial Software, Production IT, or a related field 
  • Experience in implementing and commissioning industrial software in a manufacturing site
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in C#, .NET, Web API development
  • Proficient in creating and optimizing SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning
  • Strong experience in implementing responsive and interactive front-end components using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Solid understanding of SCADA solutions and industrial communication protocols
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
