Senior Merchant, NVS Apparel GC

Overview:

The Senior Merchant is responsible for executing a consumer-centric merchandising strategy in the Value Marketplace (Nike Unite/Factory Stores) for Women's Sportswear Apparel, planning assortments, and driving end-to-end results to ensure a healthy marketplace. The ideal candidate will have strong retail knowledge, be passionate about Women's Sportswear business, and dedicated to serving consumers in Greater China.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute merchandising strategy to drive the future of the Value marketplace and Women's Sportswear vision for NVS channel.
  • Execute buy plans; adopt and assort for seasonal Women's Sportswear Apparel. Build product assortment for retail concepts in a consumer-centric way.
  • Read and react to business on a weekly basis, cooperate with planning team to deliver revenue, margin, sell-through, and inventory targets. Partner with cross-functional teams to bring assortment to life.
  • Partner with planning to monitor, trade, and plan key Apparel franchises to ensure a healthy outlook for Women's Sportswear.
  • Provide insights to Global and Geo merchandising teams to influence line plans that meet Value essentials product needs. Explore consumer insights and marketplace trends creatively to make balanced assortment decisions.
  • Involve in exploring opportunities for GEL creation and rapid response to capture market demand.
  • Evolve store product assortment strategy innovatively based on fast-changing consumer demand and dynamic marketplace.
  • Coordinate cross-sport assigned project processes and deliverables.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years in merchandising or direct retail; sports brand industry is a plus.
  • Merchandising/buying experience in Apparel retail industry, especially in Women’s Apparel.
  • Good execution, collaboration, problem-solving, strong willingness to learn and take responsibility.
  • Attention to detail and excellence in Office tools.
  • Retail and financial acumen.
  • Passion for Sports and Apparel, keen on consumer/marketplace/product knowledge.
  • Good communication/presentation skills; fluent in English/Mandarin.
  • Strong growth mindset for self and business. Be honest and transparent, embrace challenges.
