What You Would Do:

  • Timely, accurate and confidential processing of requests for appointment, reappointment, temporary privileges, locum tenens application processing, and any other task directly or indirectly related to onboarding a provider at the above-listed THOfNE/Joint Venture Institutions.

  • Close communication with the Regional Director of Medical Staff Services and personnel at the THOfNE/Joint Venture Institutions identified above to identify and consistently meet their credentialing needs.

  • Assist in the integration of crossover providers at THOfNE/Joint Venture Institutions to assure aligned presentation of credentials data to the Governing Body to avoid multiple, and possibly contradictory, decisions on the same provider.

  • Familiarity with the statutory requirements of Connecticut related to the licensing and credentialing of all types of providers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Considerable knowledge of medical staff services concepts, principles, methods, procedures including requirements for medical staff appointment and reappointment. Must have a thorough understanding of Joint Commission Standards and Medical Staff Bylaws.

  • Must be able to work independently and meet production requirements that serve the interests and needs of the above-listed THOfNE/Joint Venture institutions.

  • Graduate from an accredited two-year college or a university coursework in healthcare or business field is preferred.

  • CPMSM or CPCS is preferred. If not certified, obtaining CPCS or CPMSM certification within three years is strongly encouraged.

  • Five years’ experience in credentialing providers that work in a hospital or outpatient setting and familiarity with the procedures and industry standards of clinical privileging for providers performing procedures in a healthcare facility governed by CMS regulations.

  • Five years’ experience in performing credentialing services simultaneously for multiple healthcare facilities within the same healthcare system is preferred.

  • Must have computer skills commensurate with the position, to include but not limited to knowledge of credentialing systems and how they work, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and other Office products typically found in a business environment. Must be able to work remotely, if necessary, and maintain the necessary production requirements.

  • Must understand and support the relationship between the Medical Staff Office(s) and internal and external customers, including but not limited to the Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group, aligned payer credentialing associations, and other parties with an interest in providers being onboarded at the above-listed THOfNE/Joint Venture Institutions.

  • Familiarity with the state regulatory standards for providers licensed in Connecticut.
