Responsibilities:
Here’s what you would be doing if hired for the Senior Medical Only Claims Representative position. Your role would be to investigate and manage all aspects of a medical only claim, maintaining phone/written contact with all necessary parties. You would verify coverage, investigate, manage, and resolve medical only claims promptly and accurately. You would have the authority to approve or deny payment of medical invoices, and determine case reserves, with up to $10,000 in reserve approval authority. You will be required to handle medical only claims in multiple Midwest jurisdictions with the largest volume of claims being in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, Kansas, and Missouri.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary - requires prolonged sitting, continuous use of computer
Occasional Travel - overnight travel to claims review meeting once per year is encouraged but not required
Qualifications:
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
At least 2 to 5 years of experience handling workers' compensation medical only claims is required
Experience handling workers' compensation medical only claims in IA, MN, NE, SD, KS and MO is preferred
Additional experience handling or willing to be trained in handling workers’ compensation medical only claims from midwestern states is preferred
Excellent communication skills required, in both written and verbal form
Must be able to work with accuracy and speed with a variety of internal and external contacts
Must be self-motivated as this is a work-from-home position
A high school diploma is required
