As Senior Medical Advisor within our Transplant team, you'll provide proactive strategic leadership in shaping medical strategy and co-creating the overall brand approach to ensure appropriate use of our medicines in the UK and Ireland.
You'll drive evidence planning and execution, cultivate relationships with top clinicians, and lead projects that raise standards of care for transplant patients. Main Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership: Act as a key business partner, using strong business insight to shape medical strategy and contribute to overall franchise success
Evidence Development: Lead the planning and execution of evidence generation activities by identifying data gaps and understanding what stakeholders need to make informed decisions
Clinical Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with leading clinicians and healthcare professionals in the transplant field
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, market access, health economics, regulatory, and clinical teams to ensure aligned approaches
Standards of Care: Initiate and drive projects that improve patient care standards and treatment outcomes in transplant medicine
Implementation Planning: Develop and lead implementation science plans to ensure effective adoption of new therapies and treatment approaches
Global Alignment: Collaborate with international colleagues to ensure UK input into global and regional medical strategies and plans
About You
Experience:
Background in medical affairs (field or office-based) and/or clinical experience within the healthcare industry
Demonstrated experience working with the UK healthcare system and managing external stakeholder relationships
Soft & Technical Skills:
Strong strategic thinking with the ability to work independently, navigate complexity, and find balanced solutions
Excellent communication skills, including the confidence to lead challenging conversations and present to diverse audiences
Solid understanding of the drug approval and reimbursement landscape (e.g. MHRA, NICE, SMC)
Knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice beyond copy approval, with the ability to apply it in a strategic context
Education:
A qualification in a healthcare or biological/medical science field (such as medicine, pharmacy, nursing, or a relevant science degree) is essential for this role
Languages:
Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
