Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for mechanical design and development from concept through production within complex, high-precision technical systems.

  • Develop and refine mechanical solutions across high-precision mechanical structures, vacuum systems, cooling systems, pressure-containing components, and integrated mechanical assemblies.

  • Design components operating in environments influenced by RF fields, magnetic fields, and radiation.

  • Drive and implement engineering changes for the installed base, ensuring robustness, backward compatibility, and global serviceability.

  • Balance performance, reliability, manufacturability, long lifetime (>20 years), and Variable Cost Productivity (VCP).

  • Perform and interpret structural and thermal simulations using ANSYS (FEA), and contribute to CFD analyses when applicable.

  • Contribute to risk management activities (e.g., FMEA) and ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO 13485).

  • Create and maintain detailed 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation using 3D CAD and PLM systems.

  • Support prototyping, verification testing, root cause investigations, and continuous product improvement.

  • Contribute to technical decision-making and actively shape design standards and engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Solid experience in mechanical design within complex industrial or regulated environments.

  • Strong experience in 3D CAD design. Experience with PTC Creo is highly advantageous, as it is the primary CAD tool used within the team.

  • Experience working with installed base products and engineering change processes.

  • Experience with high-integrity mechanical systems such as vacuum technology, cooling systems, pressure-containing components, or precision assemblies.

  • Understanding of risk management and regulatory environments in product development.

  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for reliability and long service life.

  • Experience with PLM systems (e.g., PTC Windchill, MyWorkshop or similar).

  • Experience with simulation tools such as ANSYS (FEA and/or CFD) is considered a strong advantage.

  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and contribute to technical direction in a collaborative environment

Why Join Us
