Senior Marketing Manager – Racing and SAS

We’re looking for a Senior Marketing Manager – Racing and SAS to join our Marketing Team at Paddy Power part of Flutter UK & Ireland.

Reporting to the Head of Sportsbook Marketing, your job centres on racing budget management, and end-to-end delivery of outstanding consumer marketing for the Paddy Power brand across Racing in both the UK and Ireland. This includes working on media strategies for ATL advertising, briefing in and leading on insights and research, supporting our PR/Mischief teams on their missions to disrupt the news cycle, or leading the line on consumer communications that reach millions of people.

You'll be a guardian for the brand's high-bar in advertising standards, a diversity and Safer Gambling advocate, and connect Paddy Power to the mass market across sponsorships, media partnerships, traditional and non-traditional advertising.

Are you customer obsessed? Commercially Savvy? A trouble-shooter? Do you know your Lossiemouth from your Frankel?

You will also play a significant part in leading on SAS (Sports and Specials, outside of football), which can include some of Paddy Power’s most famous brand activations, like the Darts at Ally Pally.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Creative: Lead on the development and execution of our Racing positioning and assets, including hospitality, for UK & Ire including key projects such as our marquee sponsorships under the Jockey Club (Cheltenham, November meeting).

  • Media: Lead with our media agencies, alongside the Head of Media and Head of Marketing, both from best-in-class briefs, feedback, and budget management, through to in market execution.

  • Sponsorship: Collaborate with key stakeholders both internally and outside the Paddy Power business to set a fresh trajectory for the vertical the business was born from, and identify new ways with win with Next Gen in racing.

  • Content/PR: Help connect, inspire and define a new integrated approach/ways of working framework with our colleagues in Content, PR and Mischief, moving the sport and brand forward in racing culture.

  • Team Management: This person will be crucial in terms of developing their team – their skillsets, their knowledge, their confidence and ensuring measurable goals are in place for every team member so they are on clear career paths. Lead your direct reports and support them in the weekly production of marketing materials of the marketing materials, managing partnerships and longer-term brand projects.

  • Be the person: Central point of contact in the business for all day to day marketing & brand activity around Racing, engaging with a wider range of stakeholders from commercial to trading to retail to digital in order to align and amplify plans and understand the ongoing needs of the business.

  • Taking a hands-on approach to driving success, with ownership, accountability and heavy involvement in managing a team to deliver day-to-day.

  • External and Internal Stakeholder management: Lead by example with key partners to achieve objectives. Establish and improve ways of working and processes and ensure they are adopted across both our internal teams & our media agency partners.

What we’re looking for:

  • A genuine passion for the sport. The person needs to live and breathe racing, and understand where it’s going.

  • Willing to immerse yourself in the day-to-day news and stories surrounding racing and its commercial performance, to always be on the pulse with major talking points around the events that matter.

  • Significant and demonstratable marketing and brand management with a leading brand, including budget management.

  • Strong portfolio of brand work (ATL, BTL campaign, activations) strongly desired.

  • Proven track record of working on campaign and image strategies.

  • Proven ability to plan & deliver on both short & long term executions for large scale campaigns.

  • Track record of problem solving, analysing issues and opportunities as well as providing and implementing recommendations to improve campaigns.

  • Proven knowledge of media strategy & working with agency partners to deliver best in class media plans.
