The Role: Senior Marketing Manager

12 month Fixed term contract

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategically minded Senior Marketing Manager to lead the planning, development, and execution of institutional-facing marketing initiatives for M&G’s products and services. This role is pivotal to the success of the Corporate Pensions Solutions proposition (both bulk annuity and workplace) and reports directly to the Head of Corporate Pensions and International Solutions Marketing (CPS&I).


This is a senior-level position suited to a marketing professional with a strong track record in UK financial services, preferably within corporate pensions bulk annuity market, who already operates with autonomy and influence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Shape and drive the Corporate Pension Solutions marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and adviser needs.
  • Market Insight & Innovation: Leverage deep market knowledge and corporate pensions audience insight to develop compelling, insight-led campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and conversion.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior stakeholders across distribution, corporate affairs, brand, and marketing to deliver integrated, high-impact marketing programmes.
  • Campaign Management: oversee the end-to-end delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns across key audience segments, ensuring measurable outcomes and ROI.
  • Performance & Budget Oversight: Define KPIs, manage budgets, and report on performance to ensure continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Operational Excellence: Champion scalable, secure, and sustainable marketing practices, integrating innovations and third-party partnerships where appropriate.
  • Brand Stewardship: Ensure all materials are consistent with M&G and Pru brand guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Market Monitoring: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform strategy and execution.
  • Governance & Compliance: Maintain rigorous control standards and ensure all marketing activity complies with relevant regulations.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in UK financial services marketing, with a strong focus on B2B marketing and corporate pensions facing propositions, including pitches.
  • Proven ability to operate at a senior strategic level, with experience influencing senior stakeholders and contributing to business-wide initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of the UK DB and DC Corporate Pensions landscape, including key audiences of EBCs, corporate advisers, scheme trustees and sponsors, employers and members.  
  • Demonstrable success in developing and delivering highly effective strategic marketing plans that drive commercial outcomes.
  • Strong project management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging content for professional audiences.
  • Experience representing Marketing in senior forums and contributing to cross-functional leadership discussions.

Team Development & Capability Building

  • Act as a subject matter expert in media advertising, digital marketing and channel optimisation, taking a proactive role in upskilling and mentoring colleagues within the Corporate Pensions and International Solutions Marketing team.
  • Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives, workshops, and best practice sessions to enhance team capability in areas such as digital campaign strategy, performance analytics, marketing automation, and multi-channel optimisation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of digital marketing trends and technologies.

Location: London - Hybrid 2 - 3 days per week
