Main Purpose of the Role
The primary function of this job is to oversee and coordinate daily activities within Warehouses for both Abbott non exempt and contract personnel to ensure compliance with Quality, Regulatory, Corporate and Departmental Guidelines, Training and Performance objectives. Warehouses are responsible for processing orders daily,both domestically and Internationally,receiving,storage and handling of commodities. Follow established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, store, record, and dispatch goods in a store or warehouse.
Main Responsibilities
- Receive incoming goods.
- Check for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices.
- Accurately sort, label, and store goods.
- Arrange storage to optimize warehouse space.
- Pick, pack, and dispatch outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders.
- Enter data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records.
- Retrieve stored information to respond to enquiries (for example on inventory levels or delivery schedules.).
- Perform other routine clerical activities according to the organization’s established procedures.
- These activities may include answering telephones, updating stock cards and inventory records, and completing receipt, transfer,
- delivery, and dispatch forms.
- Operate forklifts or other warehouse machinery.
Qualifications
Education
Experience/Background
- Minimum 2 years equivalent work experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, warehousing or planning.
- Individual must have experience in warehousing functions which include: receiving, handling, storage and retrieval of material or degree in such area
- Must have working knowledge of inventory systems Individual will be required to train on or become familiar with current Divisional Quality Systems. GMP, FDA and ISO regulations as well as IATA and DOT regulations.
The base pay for this position is
$25.00 – $50.00/hour
