The Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager is a strategic engineering leadership role responsible for driving manufacturing process excellence with primary ownership of Alignment process engineering for Cloud products. This role serves as the Alignment Process Engineering Lead, partnering closely with Manufacturing, R&D, Product Engineering, Quality, NPI, and Global Engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable, and high-yield manufacturing solutions across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Alignment Process Engineering Leadership
Serve as the Alignment Process Engineering Lead, owning end-to-end process performance, capability, and readiness.
Define and drive alignment process strategies, including process windows, tolerances, equipment capability, and control plans.
Lead development, optimization, and standardization of alignment processes aligned with global manufacturing standards.
Act as the primary escalation point for complex alignment-related yield, quality, and reliability issues.
Manufacturing Engineering & Product Industrialization
Drive manufacturing engineering strategies to support product development, NPI, volume ramp, and sustaining operations.
Ensure alignment process readiness and integration with upstream and downstream manufacturing steps.
Own process risk assessment, trade-offs, and mitigation plans for alignment-related manufacturing topics.
New Product Introduction (NPI) & Lifecycle Support
Lead alignment process engineering activities for NPI, product transfer, and production ramp-up.
Partner with R&D and Product Engineering to drive Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, Test, and Reliability with strong focus on alignment robustness.
Ensure structured qualification , release, and documentation of alignment processes and equipment.
Yield, Quality & Cost Performance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve alignment yield, process capability, throughput, and cost of goods.
Lead structured problem-solving and root cause analysis (DOE, SPC, 8D) for alignment-related manufacturing and field issues.
Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to ensure compliance with internal and customer requirements.
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
Act as the alignment process interface between Thailand manufacturing and global engineering teams.
Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Equipment, and Automation teams to support capacity, productivity, and cost objectives.
Provide clear executive-level communication on alignment process performance, risks, and readiness.
People Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop alignment and manufacturing engineering teams to build strong technical depth and ownership.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
Support talent development, succession planning, and capability building within the engineering organization.
Safety, Health & Environmental (EHS) Leadership
Demonstrate strong visible leadership and commitment to EHS standards and compliance.
Promote and sustain a Zero Accident Culture across manufacturing engineering teams.
Review EHS performance and effectiveness, identifying gaps and driving continuous improvement actions.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Physics, or related field); Master’s preferred.
10–12+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering within high-tech manufacturing environments.
Deep hands-on expertise in precision optical or mechanical alignment processes.
Proven leadership experience at Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager level.
Strong experience supporting NPI, volume ramp, and sustaining engineering.
Solid knowledge of SPC, DOE, PFMEA, process capability analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
Experience working in a global / matrix organization.
Fluent English communication required.
