What You Will Do

  • Assure processes, equipment, fixture design, routings, programming, tooling, and standard work in support of production requirements.  Plant processes include: Assembly Processes for Aircraft Brakes and Wheels, Machining, Anodize, Chemical Etch, Aluminum Conversion Coating, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection, Waste Water Treatment, and Shot Peen.  This position will primarily support machining operations.
  • Continuously improve quality and productivity using the Ace Operating System for products and processes including compliance to these processes. 
  • Identify and implement cost savings as related to direct and indirect labor savings, and expense account budgets.
  •  Ability to lead activities related to compliance audits including AS9100, NADCAP, etc.
  • Provide technical support for serving as liaison between Value Streams, Quality Assurance, EH&S and Design Engineering.
  • Project and Contractor Management
  • Capital Projects management

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • 3 or more years of experience in support of manufacturing operations with a focus on machining and problem solving.
  • 3 or more years of project work implementing new equipment and technologies into a production environment.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • 7 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Development and presentation of project plans and justification to site leadership.
  • Can lead the introduction of a new product into production.
  • Has experience implementing transformational change.
  • Procurement and implementation of complex, large scale projects.
  • Machining support experience including:
    • Fixture and tool design
    • Tool life management
    • Routings/work instructions
    • Geometric Dimensioning/Tolerancing (GDAT)
    • Familiarity with CNC Programming
  • Experience with AS9100
  • 3D CAD software applications (Pro E, Master CAM, SolidWorks, Siemens NX (Preferred), etc)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with a continuous improvement philosophy
    • Department/process layout & flow (Autocad)
    • SWIP Management
    • TAKT time management
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
  • Works autonomously, self-starter, clear communicator, organized, and accountable
  • Expert in several process areas and deployable to a variety of complete manufacturing problems and projects that they will own and lead.
  • Proven ability to develop long term plans related to process transformation.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
