What You Will Do:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Disks will provide operational engineering support for sonic machining and sonic inspection processes.

  • Program and troubleshoot various machining operations such as heat treat prep, sonic machining on large and small lathes, and semi-finish machining

  • Develop and improve processes which support the growth curve and cost reduction targets through cost of poor quality and nonconformance reductions

  • Leverage manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality of aerospace disk forgings; assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigation

  • Progress Manufacturing Readiness Level initiatives on select part numbers

  • Create First Article Inspection packages for disk parts

  • Provide finished part support to Pratt & Whitney Canada, MTU, and other customers

  • Support internal and external audit activities

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Material Science, or other closely related technical or physical science discipline combined with 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, quality or similar environment OR a Master's degree and 3 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, quality or similar environment

  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  • Experience managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously with ability to obtain, organize and analyze quality data

  • Understanding of Quality Procedures, Quality Management Systems and experience using continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
