[What the role is]
We are seeking an experienced Human Performance Specialist to join our Safety Division. This role is crucial in optimising both the performance and well-being of our Air Traffic Controllers (ATCOs), Air Traffic Control Support Officers (ATCSOs) and Engineers while driving our human factors and safety initiatives. The position combines expertise in performance psychology, human factors, and safety management to ensure the continued excellence of our air navigation services.[What you will be working on]
Performance Enhancement & Mental Well-being:
Conduct individual and group coaching sessions
Develop and implement performance enhancement programmes
Design and drive mental well-being initiatives including peer support programmes
Provide training on fatigue management, stress management, and decision-making
Support fitness for duty assessments and return-to-work programmes
Human Factors & Safety:
Lead human factors investigations and analyses
Develop preventive strategies based on investigation findings
Contribute to safety management system improvements
Conduct workload and fatigue management studies
Design and deliver human factors training programmes
Critical Incident Stress Management:
Establish and maintain CISM programme
Provide psychological support following critical incidents
Facilitate group debriefings and peer support sessions
Monitor and analyze programme effectiveness
Develop post-incident support frameworks
Organisational Assessment & Development:
Design and conduct safety culture surveys and focus groups
Analyze operational data to identify human performance trends
Develop performance metrics and assessment frameworks
Provide evidence-based recommendations to management
Support the development of human performance policies
[What we are looking for]
Required:
Trained in Psychology, Human Factors, or related field
Minimum 8 years experience in aviation psychology or human factors
Strong expertise in performance coaching and human factors analysis
Experience in safety investigations and incident analysis
Proven track record in programme development and implementation
CISM certification or equivalent crisis intervention training
Preferred:
Qualifications in Aviation/Organizational Psychology or Human Factors
Experience in Air Traffic Control or Air Navigation Services
Certification in psychometric assessments
Background in safety management systems
Training and facilitation experience

Your appointment designation will commensurate with your relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance, and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or a contract renewal.
