  • Process optimisation: Identify and deliver improvements across end‑to‑end processes (order‑to‑cash, procure‑to‑pay), strengthening data quality, automation, and standardisation to improve efficiency and control.
  • Stakeholder leadership: Build strong relationships with Finance, IT, and business partners; translate complex tax rules into clear business requirements and sustainable solutions. Mentor colleagues and contribute to the global indirect tax strategy.

Essential qualifications

  • Degree in accounting, finance, law, or a related field. Professional qualification preferred (e.g., CTA, CPA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable commercial post‑qualification experience in multi jurisdictional VAT/indirect tax within a multinational or Big Four/major advisory, covering compliance, advisory, and controversy.
  • Deep knowledge of EU VAT (strong preference for experience in the UK, Sweden, Ireland, or other EU member states) and US foreign indirect tax obligations (including VAT/GST for US outbound activity and non‑US registrations). Strong understanding of place of supply rules, complex chain transactions, E‑invoicing/real‑time reporting, and tax determination engines.
  • Transformation: Demonstrated delivery of tax technology and ERP change (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, GTS, Vertex/ONESOURCE, AP/PO), with a track record in data governance and process optimisation.
  • Personal attributes: Strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach, high ownership and resilience, and a continuous improvement mindset. Confident communicator who can influence, simplify complexity, and drive outcomes.
