We are looking for a Senior Manager, Transportation to join our Operations Team. This individual will report into our VP, Fulfillment Operations and will lead a team focused on operational efficiency, driver performance, route optimization, and service reliability while working cross-functionally with Fulfillment, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Technology teams.

This remote position is open to individuals who live in, or are open to relocating to, the following states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

About 40% of the year, this role will entail traveling to our on-site fulfillment/office locations. The cost of travel for employees out of the area will be covered by the company. Additionally, our offices are always available for staff to use as much as desired.

Role Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Location: Remote 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with time zone flexibility 

Base Salary: $145,000 – $180,000 per year

Responsibilities: 

  • Build out hub and spoke network inclusive of facilities, personnel, and processes
  • Supervise and serve as main point of contact for local FC delivery management, drivers, fleet, transportation software, as well as inter-departmental transfer shuttles
  • Train drivers and operations staff on adherence to compliance standards
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure vehicle reliability and longevity
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies, including driver training, certifications, and licensing requirements
  • Maintain accurate records for audits and inspections, including maintenance logs, insurance documents, and vehicle registrations
  • Develop network design requirements driving capacity, efficiency, and cost in our transportation network
  • Define metrics to measure transportation performance and drive continuous improvement by identifying ways to streamline processes and reduce non-value added work, while maintaining a high level of on-time delivery percentage
  • Escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams, and follow through on resolutions to ensure they are delivered
  • Communicate with both internal and external customers to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction to the end-users of our product(s)
  • Ensure vendor contracts are in line with market standards and negotiated for optimum pricing

Requirements:
