Mandatory Reference Checking Scheme (“MRC”) for Hong Kong
The Mandatory Reference Checking Scheme is a framework to facilitate Authorized Institutions (“AIs”) to bilaterally obtain reference information during their recruitment process for certain positions, such that misconduct information in an individual’s previous employments can be provided to AIs to inform their employment decisions.

Operating effectiveness:
• Assist team lead to monitor and ensure the daily operations is complete in a professional and efficient manner, and with high quality service standard.
• Provide support to the general functions of trade administration service.
• Handle all the on-going maintenance and administrative functions of the trade finance system.
• Provide professional opinion and advice to customers.
• Perform other duties as delegated.
Change and Operations Improvement:
• Review operational workflow and identify the possible improvement areas in daily operations in order to increase the staff productivity with no additional operation risk incurred.
• Support the implementation of new initiatives and/or system enhancement to further strengthen the operation control and efficiency.
• Provide training to colleague whenever new systems/products/enhancement is implemented.
• Co-ordinate with other departments on issues that are system and project related to trade finance.
• Support planning and implementation of strategic initiatives for Trade Finance Operations.
• Participate in regular/ad-hoc bank-wide projects.
• Provide UAT support to various projects.
Internal Control Monitoring:
• Ensure jobs are being performed in accordance with Bank’s policy & guidelines, operational procedures, regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Review and update operation manual.
Business support:
• Provide high quality services to customers/Business Units. Ensure all services delivered are met with the requirements and up to their satisfaction.
• Participate in the development of new products/projects/business promotion programs which are related to trade finance business.
• Analyze external/internal customers’ business requirement, the relevant regulatory and compliance requirement, risk and necessary mitigation plan in the team.
People Management:
• Provide guidance to subordinates on daily operations.
• Coach, direct and support the subordinates.
• Maintain good connection with the main business contacts, and obtain best support from them.
Requirements:
• Degree holder in Business Administration / related disciplines, or subject to management’s discretion is preferred.
• 12 to 15 years of experience in project management with at least 5 years at managerial level and trade finance industry is preferred.
• Knowledge in trade products.
• Strong skills to liaise and manage the relationship with other departments within the Bank and vendors on issues related to trade finance system, and obtain the best support from them
• Good understanding of the Bank’s policies and procedures, regulatory and compliance requirements related to trade finance banking industry. Skills and awareness to translate the policy and regulatory requirements in daily operations to ensure compliance
