Position Overview
Support the Director, Total Rewards - International and the Director, HRBP- Malaysia in the development and execution of a comprehensive reward strategy for APAC region which is aligned with Insulet's overarching goals, market-competitive and compliant with all relevant regulations. Lead on the integration between reward strategy and flawless execution in partnership with HR Operations and Advisory. Lead and mentor the Senior Rewards Analyst, APAC, and coach and advise other HR colleagues on Total Rewards topics.
Reward Policy
Support the development and evolution of policies in all areas of reward for APAC region (pay, incentives, benefits and employee services, expense allowances, and terms and conditions of employment), pro-actively and in response to organizational growth and regulatory change. Ensure that policy change takes place in close partnership with HR Services, Payroll, Advisory and other key collaboration partners and stakeholders.
Annual Cycle
Support / lead the planning, coordination and delivery of annual reward events, including pay reviews, bonus cycles, and benefits renewals. Ensure these events are managed effectively, aligning with both the reward strategy and broader business strategy. Work to ensure smooth execution of these events, including stakeholder engagement, preparation of documentation and data analysis, and partnering with colleagues in HR Operations and Advisory to ensure flawless execution.
Benefits Strategy, Process and Automation
Actively support the management, ongoing evaluation and optimization of employee benefits in APAC. Contribute insights and assistance in the refinement of existing benefits and in the deployment of new and innovative programs. Collaborate with senior leaders and internal and external partners to ensure value for employees and Insulet, cost-effectiveness and employee engagement.
Lead on the automation and streamlining of benefits enrolment and ongoing management for APAC. Collaborate closely with HR Ops (HRIS & Service Delivery), internal partners in Finance and Legal, and external vendors. Work to leverage HRIS platforms (Workday, Payroll) for a more efficient and employee-friendly experience at enrolment and ongoing. Lead participation by the Total Rewards team in APAC in the testing and rollout of new functionalities or modules within HRIS that are related to benefits management, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
Cultivate close working relationships with benefit brokers and providers, while maximising the value for Insulet and employees from these relationships. Support negotiations with new and existing (renewing) brokers and providers, and ensure the smooth onboarding of new benefit vendors.
Respond to employee queries directly or by reference to other SMEs and providers, and support the wider HR team in resolving complex issues and disputes.
Compensation Management
Support development and ongoing management of the Insulet Job Architecture for APAC. This includes job evaluations, benchmarking activities, and developing salary guidance and ranges. Provide analytical support in reviewing and analysing market data to ensure our compensation practices remain competitive and align with industry standards.
Expatriate Management
Provide local support for the Manager, Global Mobility (US-based) and guidance to Malaysia HR Operations colleagues in administering expats and business travellers.
Oversee administration and tracking of immigration and visa activity, international employment contracts, management of split salary individuals and relocation and expatriate management (working closely with Kinetix). Keep a pulse on changes in international employment laws.
Process Improvement
Lead on the continuous improvement of existing reward processes, partnering closely with the relevant partners, stakeholders and external providers. Collaborate in mapping new processes. Communicate changes and updates in reward policies to the HR team and the wider organization, ensuring clear understanding and alignment.
Talent Attraction, Engagement and Retention
Participate in initiatives to market and showcase Insulet’s benefits in APAC in support of talent attraction and retention. Create compelling narratives and materials, both in digital and physical form, that highlight the unique and competitive aspects of our benefits packages. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to integrate benefits communications into employer branding, underscoring the organization's commitment to employee wellbeing and satisfaction.
Organize and promote 'Benefits Education Days', 'Pension Awareness Sessions,' and other similar events, online and in-person, to increase awareness, appreciation and utilization of Insulet’s benefits plans.
Support for New Entities
Collaborate in the establishment of new entities within the APAC region, focusing on integrating these entities into the existing reward, HR services, payroll and HRIS frameworks. This includes working with SMEs and external advisors to ensure that all aspects of the new entity setup are considered and addressed, and to safeguard compliance with local employment laws and tax regulations. Collaborate with colleagues in Reward, HR Ops and other Enabling Functions to ensure that timelines are met and that the integration into our systems, especially Workday, is seamless and efficient.
Maintaining Compensation and Benefits Data in HRIS
Collaborate closely with HR Ops and HRIS to ensure that International comp & ben data in Workday is accurate and current. This involves regular reviews and audits of the data, as well as prompt resolution of any discrepancies or issues that arise. Work with the HRIS team to streamline compensation data management processes within Workday, enhancing the system's efficiency and user experience for compensation-related functions.
Team Leadership
Lead the Total Rewards Analyst, APAC, and provide mentoring and guidance as required. Lead on future hirings for the Total Rewards team in APAC.
Supporting Reward Projects
Lead or support reward-related projects and workstreams as required.
Education and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Substantial experience with international compensation and benefits programs
Ability to work independently to solution complex reward issues and queries, and to coach, mentor and manage less senior team members, and non-Reward specialists.
Demonstrated ability to partner with HR colleagues and managers in delivering Reward programmes
Excellent English language skills; able to work and communicate across all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and communication skills, able to translate technical concepts into clear direction and guidance. Skill in handling employee queries and communication.
Manufacturing / Operations sector experience, or other similar experience supporting large direct labour / blue collar employee populations in 24/7 environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
8+ years of experience in Human Resources within public company environments with broad exposure to salary management, incentive compensation, employee benefit plans and HR policy writing.
Competent in benchmarking and job evaluation. Experience with Aon-Radford, Mercer and WillisTowersWatson surveys and methodologies particularly desirable.
Experience in Medical Devices and Hi Tech sectors
Compensation, benefits, job evaluation and/or HR certifications desirable.
Experience or qualifications in employee relations, employment law, payroll or HR Technology (especially Workday)
